However, he failed. He overpromised and underdelivered. He put an awful product on the field, regressed in his last year, disrespected LSU fans, made himself look like a jerk in the media etc.. Just take your 30 million and ride off into the sunset. I understand he signed a contract, but the reality is he sucked in every way. Pisses me off that he’s fighting so hard. In no other profession would his work result in 95 million dollars. Brutal.

I don’t give a frick how much money he gets from private donors. Why does anyone?

They clearly lined up to pay it already.

If I was Kelly, no way I wouldn’t get my money. LSU agreed to it.

Comical. Like you wouldn't fight for every dollar if you were in his shoes. You people simply love to complain.

Why? Both parties accepted the terms of the contract. LSU didn't like how he was performing, so they fired him. That's within their right...but they also have to live up to the bargain they made.

He's not really "fighting so hard". He's simply requiring LSU to abide by the terms of the contract they signed.

It makes you wonder if they ever considered putting up a stronger fight for Underwood.

Why does it piss you off? Are you paying him out of your pocket? LSU agreed to the contract knowing the possible outcome

That little imp is the definition of 100 million+ loser. Makes me more upset they gave him the contract and how checked out he was since day 1. He used LSU as his retirement with being lazy on the job doing just enough to keep going forward. What tops it off is he fits all the stereotypes you get from Northern assholes like him. He tried to belittle Louisiana's entire population thinking you are simple in a derogatory way.

Was more interested in his public image at LSU than coaching.

probably gauged some interest with the open jobs and no positive landing spot means he might actually be done with coaching

a tv gig won't pay near what his buyout was

he took Woodward to the cleaners and mailed it in

Well, LSU offered him the contract. He’s owed the money whether he were an all time great or lost every game he played.

There’s really nothing to get upset over…he’s owed the money and it’s his choice on whether to take less money or not.

From what they said on the radio, the Advocate is reporting LSU offered $20M and he rejected it and then offered him $25M and he rejected it.

I think he would accept in the $30-35M range. If he doesn't, then I say wait him out until he gets another job, which is contractually obligated to try to do and then mitigate.

$54M to BK is $54M that could have gone to the next coach and his roster

You might think he's a prick for it, but both sides signed on the dotted line. I'd be pushing for every dollar I am owed as well.
