We have lost at least 3 games in every season in 13 of the 14 years.

Only one playoff appearance in that time. Only one other NY6 appearance

“But muh 3 titles this century” can only get you so far. 2019 was great, but we have done nothing outside of that since 1/9

Nobody. But elite is a select group, and we currently aren’t in it

Not alot t of teams have won 9 games 8 of last 11 yrs in sec. Were an elite program, but O's 2 bad years were really bad.

Yes.

Name all the programs that have done that this century. The list is extremely short. Hence the term “elite”.

I wish we had some better outcomes but right we’re still in the top of the second tier I think. That could definitely change depending on the next hire.

Bama , OSU, Uga are obviously the elite tier. Clemson was a fluke of having 2 great QBs and venables defense. I would say we are at the top of our tier just below those three which is enviable for most programs, but a lot rides on this coaching search.

We’re a top 5-6 program. Title winner but not consistent enough due to end of O’s era and what we currently are dealing with.

Scott came aboard in 2019.
Football had the greatest team in the history of the NCAA.
Basketball had made the tourney every year with Wade.

If pundits think that the LSU job is the most desired job, then yes.

The HC hire will tell you what you need to know.

Not elite. Have made playoff one time since its inception. Consistently over ranked preseason then underperform year in and year out. Not elite at all.

No
And if they are not careful it might get worse if they mess up this hire

Define elite.

We are consistently a top 15 program that has arguably greatly overachieved by capturing the 3 titles since 2000.

Do you recall how much luck in took for Miles to get into that natty game at the last minute? Total fluke.

With the new landscape, we'll be lucky just to maintain this opportunistic 2nd tier status.

With all the money in play now, it's going to be harder to get great staff to move down here. We've seen it with the Saints. People are on record: this is not a desirable place to live, relative to many other locations.

Saban and Miles were a long time ago...

I would say LSU has to nail this next HC hire or we become Tier 2.

Naturally we think we are but only one playoff appearance since the playoff has been in existence speaks volumes.

2003 and 2007? Ancient history.

To be "Elite" or say "A Top Ten Program in the Nation" you have to be consistent......LSU is NOT consistent. Year in and Year Out we do not have a great QB. The same can be said with other position groups and coaching as well.....JUST NOT CONSISTENT AT BEING GREAT!
