What other options are available in the BR area (really would like to stay on the east side of BR) for young athletes? Or share your experiences with these places or others.

WTF is a traction sport?

What sport?
I'm assuming you are talking about leagues instead of travel?
I am so glad to be done with Traction for both baseball and flag football.
Fields are in good condition but they really suck at making schedules

How good looking is the mom?

Basketball. My daughter is coming off a pretty serious injury and has been cleared to resume sports activities at a reduced effort level while she builds strength and endurance. It can’t happen at practice because her team is going full speed and she just can’t do that yet.

Does your physical therapist not have any recommendations of personal trainers or facilities?

Elite Training Academy is taking away business from Traction

I know this isn’t a popular opinion, but your kid either has it or they don’t. They don’t need overpriced “private” training in most instances and at young ages.

Elite Training is who I would recommend. My daughter suffered back to back injuries (back/knee) her Junior year of softball. Her ortho, Dr. Burnham, is the sports medicine doctor there. She was able to rehab, then transition to sports focused rehab, then skills training all at the same facility under his watch. It was so good for her. She was able to avoid surgery and is now playing in college. Can't recommend them enough.

This isn’t at all what this post is about.

It sounded like it to me also.
Why can’t she work on her own on the side at practice?

even if it was...he is wrong because it assumes you cant train and improve athletic qualities like max strength, rate of force development, acceleration, max velocity, vertical jump ability, horizontal jumping ability, ground contact times, RSI, movement literacy etc.
which anyone that knows shite...knows that isnt true
not to mention, it assumes you cant train skill to be better which is again...fricking stupid.

Focus on school instead

She is some. Also lifting weights and doing some treadmill/cardio work on her own, but having a personal trainer would get her back on the court sooner. The injury had her out of basketball for a year. This is an extensive rehab/conditioning that she needs.

My son worked with Elite. Few years ago before their new complex was built. It was perfect for him. He needed extra instruction and focused drills for high school football.
He was never going to be a college player, we all knew that. We didn’t try to kid ourselves. We just wanted him to improve so he could keep playing high school and do his best.
Don’t go there thinking your kid is going to play college because of it. He has to have the talent first and foremost. There were some kids who were trying for college spots and they were leaps and bounds above my son’s ability. They can help get you better for sure, but they cannot turn a normal athlete into a stud athlete.
It did cost us a lot of money. And there’s plenty of former college athletes trying to make a living off you there. Don’t trust any of them until you see what they are doing and whether or not it’s beneficial and not just a cash cow.
