Yikes, I guess UCLA’s admin doesn’t care about tradition.

The fans are the only people who care about traditions now

None of their fans will show up there either.

I remember when Tulane played at the superdome. Always felt very half arse.

SoFi is a nice stadium, but it’s not a college football stadium.

There was legitimately more Husker fans than Bruins fans in the Rose Bowl last night - I have no idea how UCLA plans to pay for renting SoFi.

College games are better in college stadiums. Pro stadiums kill the aura.

Well this is one way to have less empty seats I guess.

UCLA got a false start because the traveling husker fans threw them off

UCLA playing in the Rose Bowl is relatively new. They shared the LA Colosseum with USC from 1928 to 1982.

The Rose Bowl was never a true home field for the Bruins. They may actually have more people attend SoFI than the Rose Bowl.

From the standpoint of hiring a coach - you go from playing at a rundown dump to playing at one of the nicest stadiums in the country.

Not that it matters but this isn’t a bad move for UCLA, tradition aside.

Nostalgia and tradition aside, its a good move for ucla. Its closer to their campus and will attract more fans. The stadium capacity is also smaller so the optics won't be as jarring when fans dont show up

It's also just 4 miles from LAX. I stayed next to LAX last year and was surprised how quick I got to Inglewood/SoFi.

The only tradition UCLA has when it comes to it's home stadium is that they don't play on campus and the stadium isn't ever just for their teams. This changes very little in that regard.

What else is held at the Rose Bowl? I’m assuming concerts and a few other random attractions.

Can it survive?
