ACC might get left out of playoff altogether

Duke already has 4 losses yet control their own destiny to make the ACC championship game. They just lost their 3rd OOC game of the season to UCONN but have the inside track to the ACCCG now controlling their own destiny after Louisville and Virginia lost tonight.
They have the easiest remaining schedule of all ACC contenders:
vs Virginia
@ UNC
vs WF
GT would be the opponent if they beat BC and Pitt but could easily be 8-4 Duke vs 9-3 SMU in the conference championship game if GT choked to Pitt
A 1-loss JMU (SBC champ) and AAC champ would make the playoff instead leaving the ACC on the outside looking in.

I was really expecting to open this and roast you for forgetting about auto bids. I didn't realize it was that bad out there
That would be hilarious

There is no way in hell the ACC gets left out for a JMU squad whose most impressive game is losing to Louisville by 2 TDs.

Pitt plays
Notre Dame
@Georgia Tech
Miami
Pitt could literally knock out Notre Dame and entire ACC from the playoffs if they win all three of those games and then lose in the ACC championship game. That would be the most sPitt move ever.
Edit: I admit it is probably impossible for the ACC to lose their playoff spot. I just find it funny that Pitt has a chance to win the conference.

So it’s too 5 conference champions? Not power 4 + 1?

Doesn’t their conference champion get an automatic bid?

Top 5....but for the ACC to be left out two other conference champions would have to have a higher ranked team and that does not look possible.
So the AAC and Sun Belt?

I’m pulling for Duke if that’s the case.

They won it 4 years ago with a team that lost to Western Michigan.
Pitt is actually pretty solid. Their only two losses are because they choked away double-digit leads. The beauty of the ACC is they could unsurprisingly win out or lose out with their remaining schedule.

If you guys actually followed the sport you’ll know that Pitt is undefeated since they changed QB’s. If that was a 2 loss SEC you’d be screaming to take that into account because look how they rattled off 8 wins in a row. Bottom line, sure the ACC doesn’t have anyone dominating the league, but one of our worst teams beat Alabama so you gotta eat that. Pitt, GT, and Louisville are all well coached and could can compete. They can also lose as we’ve seen. Just like teams in the SEC have done.

I actually hope this happens.

Pittsburgh can also knock Notre Dame out of the playoffs.
