I hope someone in Baton Rouge is taking notes. We don't need a flashy hire. We need a good football coach.

Funny how these non-flashy coordinators football first time head coaches are working out well instead of those fricked up flashy hires that are burned out overrated
Give me a hungry up and comer head coach from a smaller college or a coordinator frick the splash higher

Elko isn’t a first time head coach, A&M hired him from Duke, where he was the head coach.

They played their cards right only after butchering their first choice. Remember they were going to hire Stoops but fan base revolted and they abandoned the deal.

Kelly wasn't our first choice either. Woodward was more concerned with bagging an elephant than doing his research. And Verge was his right hand man.

I don’t want Sumrall, Lea, or Key. I’m down for anyone else.

Woodward is gone, so hopefully they get the right guy and not necessarily the biggest name.

Pull back on the reigns a bit. Who has A&M truly played this year? Their schedule is light. Their normal tough opponents are all down and they avoided all of the good sec teams.

They tried to hire Mark Stoops… offered and it was accepted.
Feel free to google it if you want.
They backdoored into Elko. And honestly, that’s how coaching searches work sometimes… they’re fluid.
