They have a better roster for sure. Expecting anything better than middle of the pack SEC is not realistic.

So tired of Football losses I'm just looking for the best. But it's a very good team. Men and ladies I've been watching and very impressed

I would hold off on getting too hyped. A many a bad LSU men’s team looked good early in the season.

I’m encouraged by the roster however.

LSU has a shooter for the first time in forever. That's at least one improvement.

We'll see though.

Its nice to finally have a PG. And Mackinnon looks silky smooth out there too

Yeah, Thomas and Max are my two favorite additions.

What I noticed is that the ball movement was much improved from last season. Hope to see that continue

Hopefully they can decrease the turnovers as I recall that was a major issue last season.

If you’re expecting something from men’s then you are truly delusional

Thomas - Sutton- McKinnon - Reed

Seems like they can be a decent foursome to be competitive most nights. The team as a whole lacks athleticism, shot creators, and length, though.

I felt like the portal acquisitions were much better than people were giving them credit for. I think it could be a very solid team

I'd replace Reed with Miller. Miller is a more dynamic player. He has better length and athleticism that, when playing well, can impact the game moreso than Reed. Reed is stronger, but he can't put the ball on the floor without turning it over and he's not an above the rim player. He's a solid contributor, when engaged, but Miller give you more potential against the more athletic lineups LSU will face in the SEC.

Let's wait and see how they perform vs. UNO. The last two seasons LSU has destroyed their season opening opponent, leading to these EXACT same types of comments, only to look really bad in their very next game.

Agreed, listening to Thomas and MacKinnon rave about Miller in the post game presser was something.

Also CoachMc said Nwoku didn’t play his best game, and told him so, but Mike is very coachable and understands.

I’d say counting the exhibition win against UCF they’ve looked good 2 games in a row. UNO will be a step up from Tarleton as they upset TCU on the road.

Outside of DJ Thomas, who is best PG we’ve had since Tremont Waters, the other 7 players in the rotation are 6’6” or taller. This is the largest and longest team LSU has had in a while. Positional size was a focus for this team and it’s at worst average and I believe really good from a size and length standpoint

6 SEC wins got teams into the tourney last year. LSU might need 8 unless they beat Texas Tech due to their horrid non-conference. I don't think they'll do it, but i'm cautiously optimistic.

The women's team is Final Four or bust. I don't see a glaring weakness so far like we've had the last couple of years and Bueckers is gone from UConn. I just don't see that many teams that look better than us. Some will show up throughout the season, but we'll see.
