That was always going to happen. Imagine going into the mid-terms if they didn't extend the subsidies.

I just won't bother voting anymore. frick this. These assholes have both houses and the white house abd refuse to do shite. Not to mention many GOP govs are refusing to do redistricting.

Whats the point in voting every year if this is what we get?

Whattt? No fricking way. That’s is such weak bullshite if so.

If there’s one way to make a spoiled brat less spoiled and teach them who the adult is, it’s giving them everything they want when they’re in timeout.

cave

Republicans are in face-saving mode now, no longer trying to remain adamant on some twisted principles.

Cave, defined: appealing to common sense and basic human decency. The Republicans steadfast loyalty to cruel, painful "principles", shutting down air travel, denying healthcare and snap benefits to tens of millions of fellow countrymen is at the root of Tuesday's unprecedented shellacquing at the polls.

The plan is to bring up the House-passed continuing resolution that Democrats have repeatedly rejected and then seek to amend it with a new expiration date very likely in January

How is this caving? The House passed plan doesnt allow for subsidies
quote:

While Thune believed the plan would win the support of enough Democrats to advance, Democratic senators emerged from their own private lunch determined to seek out a better deal, and they are expected to block the House CR

No one has caved from either side
quote:

Asked if they were moving closer to an agreement, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) — who has helped lead the bipartisan talks — told reporters after the Democratic lunch she didn’t know.

Thune isn’t going anywhere- he saved his arse by refusing to nuke the filibuster and lost the majority bc a bunch of demoralized republicans are going to stay home for the midterms

Democrats prevented voting on a true continuing resolution to continue funding the government at the most recently agreed upon funding levels.

A continuing resolution is not about new spending. That’s what full year appropriation bills are for.

By their legislative action to prevent senate voting (also known as the democratic process), the shutdown happened.
