Been loosely keeping up with those two. BI has a good game and then scores 13. Same inconsistent dude as ever.

CJ just looks done. Not that Poole looks any better but CJ is looking bad.

I still wish we had Dyson though. Fit really probably isn't there but he's such a good defender and is shooting 40 percent from 3.

well he's playing with other guys who are capable of scoring 20+ any given night, so he's not being asked to carry that burden every single night like he was when he was here. His assists are slightly down as well b/c he's actually able to play off the ball more.

His TS% is 63% so far this year, which is a lot higher than anythign he's every done before.

Barrett and Barnes are both averaging 21ppg, as is BI, and they still have Quickly who will average 15ppg, and speaking of Quickly, BI is actually playing with a PG for the first time, instead of having to be the PG like he was for us.

And don't tell me well Zion averaged this and CJ averaged that, b/c those 3 only played in 28 games together over a span of 3 years.

Only been 8 games, but BI is averaging 3.2 seconds with the ball in his hands per touch, and 2.2 dribbles per touch.

in 2024 those numbers were 4.1 seconds with the ball in his hands and 3.2 dribbles per touch.
2025 was only 18 games but similar, 3.9 seconds and 2.9 dribbles.
2023 was similar, 4.1 seconds and 3.1 dribbles

He's taking 4.4 attempts per game from the mid-range and hitting them at 60%, which is the 3rd best in the league for anyone that take more than 2 a game, and he's taking twice as many shots as the two guys in ahead of him.
He shot 45% in his 18 games last year from the mid range, 5.6 attempts per game. 48% the year before on 5.4 attempts per game.

BI has looked really good. His scoring his been down in a couple of games only because Toronto has other guys that take shots.

Were you giving BI 3-years/$120 million? (If he would have even taken that from the Pels. He was asking for $50 million+).

He’s the best wing defender in the entire league. And that trade set in motion us not having any pics this year.

At worse we still have the Pacers top 4 protected this year. I said it was a bad trade, thanks to Dumars, it’s actually worse than even I thought at the time….

Good news for Washington, CJ is on expiring deal.

Genius Dumars took on an extra year of Poole.

Yes, for some reason I thought he was averaging 35 a year. Should have double checked my work.

Dyson works harder than other in the regular season.

It would be nice to have him, but his offensive game is weak, and it seems he falls back to earth once Superstar Teams turn it on.

You take the extra year on Poole because honestly he’s a player a lot of teams will trade for. He’s still young and is a sharp shooter on an expiring deal next year.

Poole is the kind of player you take, rehab, and then flip for assets and picks.

The issue is we haven't been able to rehab him, that's what okc did for years and how they rebuilt that war chest

That's what WAS did and all they got for him was expirings.

The league knows who Poole is, at this point.

They also got him to rebuild thinking he could be their star and gs sold him for pennies after what happened.

He's shot under 34% from 3 in 3 of the last 4 years. That's not a sharpshooter. He's a chucker who thinks he's Curry. He's not a winning basketball player. Despite having his best year last year, Washington was better on offense and defense with him off the court rather than on it. And it was the same the year before in Washington. That's not normal for the supposed best player on a crappy team.

He's an expiring salary filler for a big trade next offseason at best. All he's doing here is taking minutes from Fears (and Jose), and teaching bad habits on the court.
If he was making $24M/yr instead of $32M/yr, then he'd be a much better trade asset, but no one wants to pay a 6th man that much, b/c that's what his role should be as a guy who comes off the bench and can give you 20-30 a night when he's hot.
On a team that's not good, he starts.
On a team that's good, he is the spark off the bench and likely closes a lot of games.
It's similar to BI. If BI is the #1, your team stinks. If BI is the #2, you can be a good team. If CJ is your #2, you stink, if he's your #3, you're probably good.

I was hoping that Poole could become more of a PG, with Murray being out. But he's really just a microwave scorer that's really streaky. He'd be fine off the bench, in a smaller role, with the expectation that he's blow up every 3rd or 4th game, to bail us out. We need a 6th man, and he has excelled in that role previously. That should be the focus.

Poole shouldn't play with Fears though. That combination has been really bad defensively. So, we should limit that pair, as much as possible. But I think we can get some value out of him the rest of the year and he can be good trade ballast to bring in a bigger fish down the road..
