NY State has up to a 11% income tax.
NY City has another almost 4% income tax.
Stack that on top of the upper wealthy of roughly 38% federal tax
So living in NYC will cost you roughly 60% on your income.
You must be a moron to live there.

Few people will actually leave, just like few liberals left the United States due to Trump.
Some may have to leave, if their jobs are canceled or their companies move to escape increased corporate taxes. But few will proactively leave.

Not all. If they feel strongly enough to leave over this, then they may be at least partially based. Believe it or not, there are conservative people in NY. Even in NYC.
