Thoughts on Nuss’s “Injury”

Let’s call a spade a spade. They called it a torso injury to start with and not a rib or oblique injury which is super broad. I think we hyped up a QB that was both mentally and physically weak. If I have to watch him get “touched up” and lay on the ground like he’s dying one more time…

and physically weak.
How many times has he been knocked out of the game? How many games has he missed due to injury?

He limps off the field almost every other possession and then goes back out like nothing is wrong. If he is hurt, he’s only hurting his team by going right back out there. If he isn’t hurt, by showing fake toughness only makes the rest of your team have less faith in you.

I think he is mentally weak.

I do think he had a physical injury that limited him early on in the season. I think the poor play as a result of the injury probably messed with him mentally.
It absolutely pushes my buttons when he limps off the field after every possession.

Like I’m a Tiger fan through and through but watching Gunner Stockton get his bell rang over and over at Georgia and hop right back up vs. seeing Nuss get bumped into and lay on the ground bothers me.

I agree with the OP and I am also tired of watching him regress. He is clearly playing scared either due to injury, mental weakness, or both. He can't read a defense, he can't step up in the pocket, he can't throw accurately over 15 yards, and he can't scramble.
Can't wait until we move on to someone else. Nuss hit his ceiling last year. We know what he is. He is awesome against bad teams at home. Yay.
Time to move on.

Feel the same way. Gunner is a tough SOB.
Your QB is the leader and sets the tone for the rest of the team. The way Nuss limps around after he gets hit (not saying getting smacked around doesn’t hurt) is a terrible look and makes us look soft. I’m over it

It's complete BS. If he's hurt that bad take him out of the game and put someone else in
He's not injured he's just a soft QB who has played really bad this year and they've tried to blame it on some mystery injury

So, you were wrong when you hyped him up but now...NOW, you see what;s really going on?
Makes alot of sense; thanks for the clarity.

I know, right? Lets see what’s more legit…
He suffers from no protection and is beaten black and blue every snap before limping back to the sidelines and into the tent.
You get up during the commercial break and limp to the fridge on account of your sore and swollen diabetes feet.
Clearly he has no reason to act like that.

Unfortunately, Nuss doesn’t have that burning desire to become great like Joe and Jayden.

When has he gone to the tent?
I’ve never seen him go into the tent….

I think in that interview that Brandon Taylor did he said it best

How many snaps have you taken at the QB position? Mini Pee Wee doesn’t count BAW!
PS a fricking O Line goes a long way.

I think Nussmeier was truly hurt during preseason practices and doctors recommended a minor clean-up surgery which would have knocked Nuss out for several weeks.
Kelly said no way. Nuss and his daddy said no way. And so he has tried to play through it.
I think our offensive tackles suck and that's caused Nuss to take a weekly beating. I think if a couple of 300-pound guys fell on you, you'd be slow to get to your feet, too.
I also think our receivers haven't helped things because they have repeatedly failed to create any separation from defenders.
Add it all up, and we're 5-3 with a solid chance of finishing 7-5.

Arent they out for the season? And you want Nuss to do the same?
How about we get a line that keeps him from getting crushed on Every Single Play!!

He’s a drama queen like Whit

No kidding. For all the whining about his limping and injuries, can anyone name another QB that we have had that has taken the beating that he has this season and hasn't missed a snap?
