Gaining weight with crossfit

I started CrossFit to lose weight and have a group hold me accountable. I have ended up gaining ten pounds. The workouts leave me starving. My appetite has doubled.

All about calorie intake, you have to watch what you eat at all times.
Here is the almost fool-proof way to lose weight:
Calories Deficit - burning more calories than you are intaking, try to set a calorie goal just or 500 less than 2k, every one is different in their marks (cardio after weight training is a must - 12.5 incline, 3.5 speed for 20-30 minutes on treadmill will shred fat, id also throw in some body weight exercises to help balance everything out between weights, body, and cardio)
Intermittent Fasting - Eating between a certain period of the day, usually a 18/6 split or something close enough helps (ex: eat a light lunch at 12:00, mid day protein snack at around 2:30-3, then high protein dinner no later than 7:30ish, nothing but water after dinner and I mean nothing to stay strict out the gate)
High protein (chicken, steak, fish, shrimp, nuts, shakes etc., low sugar, low carb (not no carb -> carbs = energy, need energy to function just not heavy carbs)
Diet, sleep, and exercise go hand in hand in order to lose weight and gain muscle.
Im assuming that crossfit regimen has burned some arse out the gate with high intensity training, thats a personal choice to continue crossfit if youd like but a regular gym membership with a simple muscle group split during the week with two rest days works too. I lost 45 pounds by simply following this formula of sorts and held my own self accountable by looking in the mirror every day to see the progress.
You may know all of this, just trying to help baw. Hope you get to your goals man.

You gained weight because you ate too much. Pretty simple. Now please don’t melt and say you are immune to the laws of thermodynamics

It’s 85% diet. Gym helps but you can’t outwork a bad diet. Also, not trying to be mean but CrossFit is garbage. Do something else.

CrossFit is making you hungry.
That’s ok.
You want to eat more but you’ve burned more calories.
That’s ok.
Just pick good things to eat.
Meats, fruits are best.
Premade potein shakes are the best hack to satisfy cravings and tell your brain here comes some sugar when they don’t have much

for most people....crossfit is a god send to get them lifting progressively heavier with free weights.
and i dont even like crossfit, just being honest.

There’s nothing inherently more dangerous about CrossFit than any other athletic endeavor.

No it’s not. Not having the technical ability to complete the lift is inherently dangerous. You can do that in any state and walking around an LA fitness, there’s dozens of people at any time in any location doing just that.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with CrossFit when applied correctly. You can argue that there are a lot of coaches not applying correctly and I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with you. But if you are only going to dedicate 5 or so hours a week to your fitness, CrossFit (again, applied correctly) is likely the best bang for your buck of any fitness regimen out there

Bro, technical ability breaks down with exhaustion.
I get what you’re saying, but you’re at MORE risk of injury doing cleans for time than doing cleans with proper rest. That’s not even debatable.

I don’t disagree if your goal is all-around fitness. For sure.

Just because EMOM is written on the board doesn't mean you have to do that round. If something feels off on a lift of any sort, it's on the participant to know when to leave their pride on the floor for another 60 seconds.
Part of learning to lift is known exactly where everything is supposed to be, and how it is supposed to move. Do a weekend seminar where all they teach is the snatch for hours on end if need be, etc.

How do you have energy when fasting? I get so hungry during day and can’t focus
