This has always been an issue in the Republican Party, will get worse as the party is getting younger. The D party is the party of the old and white, they are retired and will get out and vote.

Trump in 2024 got a lot of low propensity voters
Great for winning the presidency but not reliable in midterms. The R voters in midterms are more likely to be squishy moderate country club republicans too who aren’t overly fond of Trump

Horse crap, I voted for Trump and didn’t vote yesterday. Why would I waste my time voting for useless Republicans? The only thing the Republicans are good for is standing in the way of Trump, not helping. The Republican Party as a national party is dead after Trump. I can’t think of a single major accomplishment by the Republicans under Trump that they weren’t essentially forced to begrudgingly support. No immigration reform, voter ID laws, spending cuts; etc. They are ineffective and spineless

Didn't every candidate at the top bash Trump when he was down? Trump probably said, "frick them." They have no say in what he is doing.
