Trump's Reason For Wanting The Filibuster Removed. Is He Right?

Trump is really digging in on pressing the Senate to remove this procedure. His reasoning is when the Democrats gain control they will remove the filibuster and ram liberal shite down the nation's throat.
Is Trump right? Will the Senate Democrats drop this procedure when the gain power?

When have they voted to remove the filibuster on legislation in those 30 years?

Democrats will get rid of the filibuster once they are back in power. Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema voted with the republicans to keep it. Manchin and Sinema are gone so there is nothing to stop a future democrat controlled Senate from doing away with the filibuster. Trump is 100% correct. Republicans should get rid of it and pass some damn laws.

Well, they have done it in the past so why would anyone think they wouldn't do it again?

Trump knows if the Democrats win the Senate in the house he’s over. They will impeach him and he will be the first president to actually get impeached and removed from office. It’s gonna be a complete shite show his last two years and everything he’s done will be undone. I’m so glad that conservatives are in fighting while literal communist are getting elected. I was always concerned with this coalition Trump had between the tech Bros, Israel, and the podcast Bros. Those three all have different agendas that were never gonna mash well.
But even at it, worst maga is better than the crap we’re about to get from the left

This is like the Glenn Greenwald v. Chris Rufo debate. People like me, SFP, and Roger have been saying over and over, be careful what you wish for with the maximalist actions because they are going to be shoved up your butts x 10 in the future. That's the Greenwald argument. The Rufo argument is that the electorate chose Trump to fight back as much as possible on lefty abuses and he has to go full throttle while he can. I will say, the filibuster issue is interesting as it is the rare instance where a decent amount of this board seems to be advocating for restraint and not blowing up customs/procedures.

frick you and your willfully ignorant schtick.
Trump needs to do any and everything he can to go scorched earth on the left now.

100% correct. At the very least, reduce the number from 60 to 55 like it was reduced from 67 to 60 previously. Trump and the GOP have a 1 year window to get things done, do that and they will have another 2 year window.

The reason I ask is this board, like the Senate Democrats has been against ending the Cloture rule yet it seems like we're at the point of kill or be killed be legislature

He is 100000% right. We are talking about the Democrats who would kill there own family members. They will do ANYTHING to get shite passed.

You avoided answering the question to promote emotional nonsense based on a completely irrelevant example (not even a federal one).
In one post you showed the blueprint for how authoritarians take power

That was always going to happen if he didn't do what he said he would for affordability. Should have thought about that before prioritizing keeping the Adelesons happy in the Middle East

Unlike some, Senators generally respect the institution of the Senate.
Trump is not a Senator, and he needs to stay in his own lane.

Exactly what people like me and bunk are talking about. With respect to the Democrats. It's a mutually assured destruction scenario where they give the GOP the ability to go absolutely ham. They did dabble with judges and then got absolutely owned during Trump's first administration and that's why you did not see this during biden's administration and when they needed to remove the filibuster for his terrible legislation. That's why all these emotionally based fear arguments about how they're going to do it don't stand up to even the most basic and elementary of scrutiny because we literally have an example, post supreme Court filibuster being removed, of the Democrats specifically not removing filibuster restrictions on legislation
That's why any example used to instill fear Will be irrelevant like the one I pointed out above

Short-sighted. Very short-sighted.

I think it's fair to say the game has changed.

While I disagree with a lot of what you post, the majority of your posts are logical and thought out. With that said, I don't think this is one. You know if Sinema and Manchin don't vote with the Republicans in 2022, the fillibuster is dead. So while yes, a vote has not removed it in the past 30 years, it was only because two saved it. Those two are gone and there us no one left to save it and you know it.
