Another vote for cornbread dressing.

I also eagerly await the post-Thanksgiving leftovers of turkey noodle soup and turkey salad sandwiches.

My in-laws held this opinion until they finally ate Thanksgiving wife my family. They were stunned. “We’ve never been to a Thanksgiving where all the food was so good”

Guess your family just can’t cook brother.

As to the question: day after gumbo with stock made from the fried turkey carcass. Unbeatable.

I’ve always said cornbread dressing, and I still do.

But I also love green bean casserole, broccoli cheese rice casserole, jiffy corn pudding, and mac and cheese. So.

I like a very good homemade gravy that has a nice sherry zip to it. I usually make it from a rotisserie the night before so it’s already made and then I just add turkey drippings to it when reheating. Cover everything in the gravy and substitute out your fork for dinner rolls - scooping bites.

I’ve never liked cornbread dressing
My Dad tried to give me a pan he made Sunday & I wouldn’t take it

I miss my Grandmas sweet potato casserole & homemade Mac & cheese
I make the sweet potato casserole for the holidays now & it’s never quite as good as hers was

ETA
If anyone tries to make this I only use 1 egg & a little less milk
It also takes a lot longer to bake, about an hour but I am doubling the recipe (2 eggs instead of 4)

Cornbread dressing with giblet gravy. Our family recipe is the best I've ever had, as I'm sure y'alls is too

Sweet potato casserole comes in second

As far as non traditional thanksgiving meal traditions, I've brought a cooler of raw oysters up the last few years. Those are always a big hit
