LSU is a job anyone would want, no doubt. Higher profile coaches can see this as a lay back and let it happen type destination. Cruise control…see BK. When we got Saban, he was an up and coming from Michigan State and smaller schools before. Miles was OSU and smaller before. O was…well he was a shrimp boat captain.
Hungry coach that is use to NIL and doing well with a program that can’t pay what we can, facilities we have, dan base we have can thrive and crush it.
That’s my $0.02. Not interested in what Woodward tried to do and likely would’ve done again. Have some insight on good coaches that can propel themselves and this program for years.

Got it. Shouldn't be too hard.

And I think that's what happened with Saban after '99. His people approached us. He was 48 at the time and wanted the job.
Whoever is doing the search needs to do their homework. I agree with your sentiment. We don't need a "big-splash" hire.

Good grief man, point is LSU can make a coach great with what we have. That coach just needs to want to work and do it not be lazy AF.
Are you saying we just go after past coach of the years in shitty conferences?? I can think of a few that have jobs and don’t.
Never said pay up top dollar, actually the opposite cause we don’t go after some big name. You are on the side of “the coach make the program” which is true for lesser schools. This is still LSU, top 5 program/facilities/fanbase in the country. A coach can make a name for himself for taking this on and thriving. Be a legend.
Get a grip man. You’ve missed the point. LSU can do this with a good coach from anywhere…LSU can elevate a good coach that wants it and wants to win and puts in the work.

Well after this AD hire I don’t think you need to worry about us being too aggressive.

I agree. We need to take a chance on a great offensive minded coach who is a relentless recruiter.ill also try to bring Dave Aranda back as well when Baylor let him go soon .

No they can’t, and the example you used, BK, is exactly why they can’t. You think they want to get embarrassed and shite canned mid-season?
If anything, he showed it’s the opposite.

Bob Chesney from JMU. He’s won at every level he’s coached at and he’s winning at James Madison

Saban’s track record of hiring coaches is impeccable. They’re are many successful HC that worked under him.
Hire him to consult with hiring a HC.

As long as he can mold a team with a physical playing style, I don't care who he is.

I want to cast a wide net and have a competitive interview process. We may be LSU but we’re not above doing this.

The slide in expectations for football over the last 5 years has been something to witness.

This take is the exact reason I’ve been pounding the table for Kenny Dillingham. Young , hungry , already shown he can turn around a program, offensive mind and relentless. He has potential to be the fb version of Jay Johnson in terms of being a west coast guy that fit the culture down here like a glove
