Our small class of 16 reduced big time if we go past early signing period with no Coach

That would probably mean LSU targeting coach in the CFP. ….
But our small class would lose top end talent… and get even smaller.

It would be short-sighted to not wait for a good coach. Even if it makes next year more difficult.

I would assume we have nil $ in place to hold onto the big names on our commit list. We'll lose some, but hopefully keep the in state lt, s, wrs, and big dline recruits.
If we miss the portal, and dont have a coach during the portal to keep current roster guys here, concerned 2026 and then 2027 then become default 6-6 seasons. I dont get it tbh. Hire up and coming coach who grinds for the program. Why wait? You're going to miss on half a freshman class, and lose 1-2 yrs of classes with roster departure + lack of portal adds with 0 coach to dictate the additions. Our team will be horrible for 2 yrs by waiting past the portal date

With NIL things could be flipped quickly if the right coach is hired.
I highly expect you see guys like Julian Lewisfrom Colorado enter the portal. Guy was a 5 star talent that had to sit the bench and watch horrible qb play to the point his team is eliminated from literally anything.
Get a Lane Kiffin or someone similar and maybe you can convince a guy like that to come to LSU.

This. We may miss the new portal window too. Just have to give Frank and staff the money they need to try to get some of these kids. WIll miss on some but you have to make the right hire and if you have to wait then thats what you have to do.

Problem is that they don’t know if they will be retained under the new HC. Without guarantees one or more would be kept on staff in some capacity, I wouldn’t think that this is a viable strategy.
Nor would they be allowed to make those deals with the recruits

Better to get the right guy than worry about early signing perior. There will still be plenty of unsigned 4-5 star guys if you get the right coach.

If Brian Kelly was so hated by recruits, why are we worried they would flip after he was fired? Anybody is better than Kelly, right? And why aren't more recruits lining up to sign? Clearly Frank Wilson will be here in some capacity.

Seems like it will happen. As well as big rich, Martinez, and maybe Aiden hall to Texas. Might lose finney too.
