Since 2019, which #1 pick would you not take in place of Zion?

2020: Anthony Edwards
2021: Cade Cunningham
2022: Paolo Banchero
2023: Victor Wembenyama
2024: Zacharie Risacher
2025: Cooper Flagg

I made a thread like this during Wemby's first year and many said they'd still take Zion over Cunningham and Banchero.

Fast forward to now and the only player you could make the argument for is Risacher.

Everyone else has passed up Zion, despite having more hype entering the draft than all of them except Wemby.

Not sure who failed the other more, Zion failed the Pelicans or the Pelicans failed Zion. Either way, what a huge disappointment he is.

Runner-up for ROY last year. He's not an all-star, but at least he actually plays. 75 games last year, Zion will never touch that in his career.

Runner up and regressing.

He's not that good.

They messed up by passing on sarr who was consensus #1 for so long.

I’m taking Zion over Risacher and probably Flagg. Always thought Flagg was a bit overhyped and he has not looked great so far. Think he ends up becoming a Mikal Bridges type of player.

Devil's advocate, I'd rather Mikal Bridges last 7 years over Zion and I think Cooper definitely has more playmaking ability than Mikal.

That's before you get into character, off the floor, who do you actually want as a Face of your city, team, organization type questions. Bridges and Cooper clear Zion by miles there.

You're insane. You'd take a guy who barely plays, doesnt care, cant shoot and cant defend, over Cooper Flagg? That take will age like milk.

The Banchero takes were dumb but Cade took a HUGE step last year, so at the time that wasn't a bad take. Weren't the Pistons incredibly bad Wenby's rookie year?

A portion of our fans have some serious Stockholm syndrome

ETA: I would take all of them, including Risacher, just to get the fatass off our team and let our young players grow without him taking up space and setting a horrible example.

So you wouldn't have taken Mikal Bridges career over Zions? Even if you took out Bridges 82 game rookie year, Bridges has played 262 (262!!!!0 more games than Zion. Over three full seasons of basketball for his teams. Averaging 15ppg, hovering around 40% from three and giving you elite defense night in and night out. We would 100% have been better off if we had Bridges over Zion.
