The internet rumors have been saying that hiring Dalton was one of the things LSU needed to do for Saban to come back. Dalton is now going to be chancellor instead of president. Is that enough to appease Saban?

Why has this been thrown around as a stipulation? Honestly. If Saban was to be offered the job, why would Dalton be something he’d want if we all know he’s done in 3-4 years anyway?

Regardless if he does come out of retirement this will add fuel to the fire.

I do not know but the posters who claim to have sauce(s) which have turned out to be right about other predictions have been saying it.

He would want to be working with someone he is familiar with.

I was wondering the same thing. Wouldn’t Saban care about who the AD is just as much as the chancellor?

There is no way there is a legit connection between dalton and saban. Dalton seems great but he is an academic, had nothing to do with athletics at bama.

If Saban wants to come here then LSU should let Nick Saban pick the AD.

Nick Saban should be the AD, and he can pick the coach.

This seems obvious to me. I don’t know why anyone thinks he’s going to coach again.

serious question...is it possible they don't know each other much at all?

Besides the President role, Provost at Bama is easily #2 on the academic side. I find it impossible him and Nick did not get to know each other over the 4 years they worked at the sane university…in very high profile positions. Regardless of the connection to Nick, this is an excellent hire. Got to make Bama fans squirm just a lil bit more lol.
