'President Donald Trump and his allies are trying to rig the system and are hand-picking Republican states to go through redistricting processes,” Moore said, days after suggesting he is open to calling a special session to boost gerrymandering efforts. “While other states are taking their cue from Donald Trump to rig the system, Maryland is doing the opposite, and that’s why today I am announcing the governor’s redistricting Advisory Commission.”

This guy has already put MD near the top of the black list for ever receiving any help from the federal government, and he's sinking deeper in the quick sand every day it seems.

I'm not sure what else anyone expected to happen. If red states are going to do it, so are the blue ones that still can.

How about using common sense, realizing that you're a Loser with a capital L and try NOT to sink any lower, keep your mouth shut and maybe, just maybe, try to play nice, one day at a time. May serve you MUCH better than playing hard-assed Loser. Just sayin'!

You obviously don't understand the history behind this. Democrats began engaging in gerrymandering several years ago in order to elect a bunch of minorities. Hell, Louisiana had one district that was shaped like a snake.

Republicans are simply undoing that bullshite.

I didn't realize Maryland could gerrymander any worse than what it already is?

Moore was sold as a moderate, common sense D who would unite the state, blah blah blah. He's just another far left progressive with TDS.

Red states are doing it because blue states never stopped doing it.

Take your medicine, it may burn going down.

Blue states have been doing it. Republicans are just now catching on and returning the favor…..

How do you get states that vote 45% republican with zero representation? Explain that.

Now explain the districts in IL that were set before any red state required redistricting. Then tackle the states in the northeast with 40 percent or more registered republicans with zero congressional Republican representation.

The Supreme Court made a big mistake when it said Gerrymandering is okay, instead of maps drawn by non-partisans or commissions that are no worse than 50-50 between the parties.

Laughable. Some blue states are already maxed out with nothing left to gerrymander. And have been for years. It’s only in the limelight now because red states started returning the favor and our corrupt legacy media chose now to start talking about it. Wonder why that is?

What are you talking about?

My point was that the blue states that are still able to do so--to the extent that they aren't already maxed out--were always going to do the same thing.

And some aren't. Those that aren't were going to do. Don't know how no one saw that coming apparently.

Mid-cycle shenanigans are dumb. What are we going to do? Re-district every two years now based on precint House results?

That isn't sustainable.

All gerrymandering sucks.

Look at Illinois representatives map.

It’s definitely possible to eliminate the lone republican seat.

They can get rid of the existing GOP seat on the Eastern Shore pretty easily.

I understand it completely. Louisiana still has a bullshite, gerry mandered district. And gerrymandering is not recent at all. It has never not been a thing. It sucks, but it has always been that way, and it needs reform.

There is no reason that anything other than raw population, geographic coherence, and existing administrative boundaries should be considered for districting.

They are an abomination.

I reject the premise. We don't have proportional represenation. If districts are drawn rationally re: population, geographic coherence, etc., and it just so happens that each of the districts are 40% republican, then fine. That is just how it works. But snaking districts around across States and splitting cities/counties/neighborhoods to achieve specific political makeups is incredibly retarded, and a large cause of our dysfunction. Regardless of which party does it.

Undoing what Democrats did thank you very little. Democrats have created the most extreme insane districts ever created. And once the Supreme Court rules you can't create race based districts, the damage done by liberals will be cleaned up. And once illegals are no longer counted on the Census, liberals are fricked when they have to play by fair rules.

The 45% could be spread out among every CD.
