Amin El Hassan was on the show today and, as a former NBA front office staffer, he basically laughed at how bad Dumars handled the Queen trade. One of the few trades that never made sense from the second it was made public.

Starts at 34:06 mark

They open by mentioning contraction.

I honestly thought Shams read it wrong or had wrong info. I was waiting for him to correct it. I did not think anyone with half a brain would make that trade.

It’s got to be the worst draft day trade in the history of the NBA.. right?Queen may even feel extra pressure from it

Yep. And I agree it likely puts unneeded and unfair pressure on Queen. And truthfully I’ve been impressed with his play. It’s a shame it’s completely overshadowed by the unnecessary stupidity of Dumars in ridiculously overpaying.

You had people on here saying the trade wasn’t that bad, we have a playoff roster and the pacers were still a playoff team. Anyone with half a brain knew this was going to blow up

I got 27 downvotes on draft night for calling him a clown the moment the trade was announced. I bet 27 people would like those downvotes back.

Get off the cross. That trade was lambasted by everyone, media and this forum included. I've defended it, and still will. But there aren't many in my camp, and that's OK. If you got down votes, which who cares?, I'm sure it was for other reasons. We literally have 4-5 new threads (that are never original) every week that rehash how bad the trade was. You aren't alone..

There was a very loud vocal minority defending this trade non stop. It was pretty annoying when it clearly was a terrible trade. Being contrarian at that level is very annoying because the arguments for it were complete nonsense.

People post how bad it is every day, many times a day. I counter every so often. So your point doesn't make any sense. For every pro-trade post, there are literally 20+ saying how bad it is. Just because you don't agree doesn't change the raw numbers.

Wasn't the Luka trade a draft day trade?

Either way, it's wayyyyyy up there.

Honestly their idea of Silver taking over the team would be the only hope.

I know you said it was a good trade and this was a playoff roster and argued with me the Pacers would be in the playoffs b/c the east was so weak.

How’s those predictions going for you so far?

Dantheman was the main one defending the trade ad nauseum, notice he's been MIA since the season started..

Bmark is such a fool, he's still here defending the trade

His point makes perfect since, if you know what a 'minority' is.

Yes I am. Queen is going to be super good. I'm glad we have him.

I still think we get to 30+ wins, whether we trade a bunch of players or not. When that pick ends up at 6-10 and the Hawks take some international project, with Queen being a major contributor, do you think I'm going to be bragging or rehashing history?
