Like everything else the government touches, Obamacare did the exact opposite of what it claimed to, but exactly what they wanted it to.

Its a consequence of getting rid of pre-existing conditions.

Yet they couldn’t even get that right.

All they have done is entrench a system they have made worse.

Just shows you how far gone MTG is now. The liberal guest cant believe he would ever say that he agrees with her on something

And yet shes a sitting congressman, but wants to blame all the other (R) congressmen for there being no solution. Unless importing more illegals is her solution.

Maybe if she had a brain she could associate the illegals getting free health care as a major factor with her insurance costs skyrocketing

And we are no closer to that (thankfully)

They just turned a shitty system into an even shittier one.

Obamacare was much more about a government takeover of insurance than about actual healthcare.

And if you think that the illegal immigrants have stopped going to the ER for basic medical care, you’d be wrong.

BINGO……it was designed to fail. Democrats could not make the leap straight into socialized medicine. This was the stepping stone.

Don't know why you're getting downvoted but you're spot on. The minute you get rid of pre-existing conditions and you have to take the guy with Stage 4 cancer at the same rate as the healthy 24 year old marathon runner, it's no longer insurance. It's a social welfare scheme.

Why would Maher know anything about the common person. Everyone who had a job and had to pay for health insurance with a family knows that the only ones who benefited from Obamacare were the people that were below poverty and those that paid no taxes. Immediately, the middle class saw the problem and the wealthy like Maher believed that it was a great solution without having any real knowledge of what it really did.

No doubt it was part of it for sure. But to not address pre-existing conditions with the way we have to switch all the time is worse than premiums rising. It would mean that the coverage you had was worthless because nothing would ever be covered for chronically sick people. It ultimately doesn't matter thought because without fixing the single payer problem and figuring out how to socialize medicine without losing the benefits of innovation and capitalism and not putting the government in full control is a problem no one is willing or able to solve anyway. And there is no long term path for affordability without it.

my premium is 2300/mo.

that combined with a max out of pocket of 18k.....18k!

And you see signs for health insurance on yard signs for 3 dollars a month.

When you see that you say, oh, I am the one subsidizing that.

That was obama's plan the whole time.

20% of doctors pre 2010 worked for large hospital chains. It is now 70%.

The party of the corporations. More paper pushers than medical staff get hired. More Admin costs, higher bills.

That's what you did.

And yeah it got more people on insurance like me because if I didn't, I was going to be fined.

Why was it going up? It definitely was substantially outpacing inflation.

And by lumping all administrations together, are you claiming that policy differences didn’t matter regarding the rate of increase?
