Hundreds of state workers being furloughed....SNAP for non elderly and non disabled will be loaded onto cards at a rate of 25 percent per week.
You know a bunch of people are going to roll through that 25 percent in a day or two and call office numbers that will be no longer answered due to worker furloughs.
Oh Snap

Les Miles has lost control of SNAP!

When the wealthy get tax breaks or bailouts, it’s called 'trickle-down economics.' No one bats an eye on here.
But when the poor receive any kind of assistance, they’re branded as lazy freeloaders who just need to 'work harder.'
In both cases, the middle class pays for it.

Because people with an 8th grade or high school education who curse every 3 seconds are not hireable.

Plus they can't pass a drug test.

Well that’s because we aren’t non-functioning retards.
The “wealthy” pay 51% of the income taxes in this country. The middle class pays the rest. 40% of the people in the country pay no fricking taxes at all, and that IS because they are lazy and fricking entitled.
The poorest people in our country are in the top 3% in global GDP.
America doesn’t understand true poverty. There isn’t an “impoverish” household in America that doesn’t have multiple flatscreen TV’s on the wall and an Iphone.
So sick of this bullshite.

Trying to liken welfare to tax cuts and trickle down is lazy.
For one, you can't have demand-side economics/trickle-up economics when the money the poor is spending is money taken from the wealthy and middle class no matter how much you guys claim welfare generates economically.
The middle class would be just fine not funding SNAP, and probably even flourish more but they would not exist without the wealthy. The whole economy is driven by the wealthy unless you want more Government employees.

Tell me, what employment opportunities or municipal enrichment do SNAP recipients provide their communities?

"The Poor" are being represented by expensively tattooed individuals of considerable weight and history of, well, poor choices.
Are they all like that? Probably not... blame the media for making the face of SNAP trashy, fat and lazy.

The elderly in Louisiana on SNAP is not even close to being the majority
quote:
In fiscal year 2022, Louisiana had about 794,922 people receiving SNAP.
Over 37% of those SNAP participants were in households with an elderly (60+) or disabled member.
That equals roughly 294,000 elderly or disabled SNAP participants (or people living in households with someone who is elderly or disabled).

Snap benefits for non disabled and non elderly should be based on hours worked.

Of which, no one has a problem funding and providing for this group. No one.
Yet, they’ll ignore the other 63% which we do have a problem with and nothing will be done to curtail that waste.
The topic of disability fraud isn’t even beng discussed yet.

You mean they're going to do their grocery shopping for the week? How frequently should people grocery shop? Daily?

Do you think they will pick up any job applications while they are driving around picking up their groceries?

This is an interesting take from a leftie.
Mandami and his followers want to tax the rich more. NY governor has come out saying that can't happen. Why? Because according to her 1.5% pays 1/3 of NY taxes.
I hope your clothes fit you better after you get thru this trying to of your govt cheese being paused.

They've been trying really hard to justify SNAP for non-working healthy people
Some liberals even tried to claim that putting your groceries on credit cards is the same as SNAP because they are both handouts. They probably have shitty credit, so they have no idea how credit cards work.

I especially liked the argument that every $1 in SNAP "creates" $1.50.

I know that it would be costly to administer SNAP benefits this way, but it would be very much worth it. Not only financially, but bettering the community for all and bettering the applicants but forcing them to have at least a minimu of responsibility amd work ethic.
Have programs that make applicants ‘work’ in the community, picking up trash, city maintenance, cleaning drainage, etc. If there isn’t any work needed, they can work towards their GED by working state led programs that track progress.
Also, drug test for every applicant.
I don’t care if administrating a program like this cost MORE than current SNAP program. It would be worth it in the improvement of our society instead of incentiving these welfare queens and other lazy POS.

Tampon Tim raised that amount to $1.80 last week. Somehow it magically jumped .30 cents in just a week.
