I go with this as well. I like to have leftovers for other dishes.

Depends on the event and who's attending. But its usually 3-5lbs a person.
I'll never boil less than a sack at a time, usually end up doing 3 or more though.

5 pounds per person. You can get away with 3-4 per person if you stretch the batch with sausage, shrooms, lots of taters (make a sauce and people will eat them), etc.

Whoever made that rule about 5 lbs. per person weighed 110 lbs. and was not from LA. I say 7-10 lbs. per person.

From some local farmers, I have heard it's not looking good.

I know some ladies who can work on them... I go with 5 a person just to be safe.

They say this every year. It keeps prices inflated, I don't blame them.

I do 3-5 lbs per person depending on whether it is primarily a "native" or "non-native" crowd. If you have a lot of folks who did not grow up eating crawfish, 5 per person is too much (at least this is what I have found).

That or they are counting for women and kids.
If you just have a bunch of dudes getting together for crawfish, 5 lbs per person will leave you all wanting more.

same here and it looks like I won't be making it back there until April at the earliest since the wife just made reservations for St Pete in March.
