Are pundits saying this because we fired Woodward right after Kelly or is solely due to Landry? Because Landry will not have a say in this hire. He may say he does but the BOS (aka $) will solely make this decision. Certainly new prez will have to support but the $$ will have the power. Hopefully the BOS have told Landry to stfu.

Because our dipshit governor is exerting his power on the BOS to remove the AD and replace him and the president with 2 unqualified bums from mcneese state

Hopefully they told him he’s done enough.

The tard governor should not have intervened in the situation with a hamfisted press conference.

Do you want to take a wild guess at who appoints the BOS?

Dude managed to make the entire state look more retarded than it actually is with one press conference. Truly impressive.

Who do you think appointed those BoS members? The current and past Governor. So these BoS members are all political animals, and aren't likely going to give Landry any grief at all.

Unfortunately, Landry has influence over many BOS members. He directly appointed 33% of them and will appoint 33% more in January, 2026.

That Landry fellow looks like someone Dana Carvey would knock out of the park.

It's not good, but the media is sensationalizing it to the max. It's not nearly as bad as they make it put to be. Kelly wasn't performing as well as he should have been. Woodward let him go with a massive buyout. All of that should have happened, the only part not needed was the Governor intersecting himself into it.

I mean we don't have a prez, an AD, or a head coach!?!? And we have a governor (well y'all do, I live in Houston) who inserted himself into the fray.

You wouldn't call that dysfunctional?

The perception is that we fired Woodward due to Landry's insistence. Though that may not be the case, that is the perception.

I think the BOS is around half Landry appointees, give or take a few. Odds they tell him STFU are probably slim.

That is not the perception.
