Now that we enter the search for a new AD after Little Landry pushed him out the door, I’m hopeful that a wide search be held and we’ll garner interest from the top guys for the position of AD. If , within that search, we cannot get better than Verge, I would support Verge.

In the past few days, I’ve been able to watch some Verge media and done some background on him. He’s got some faults but some strengths.

He’s not the connections guy and he might not know how to build out what we need on a wholesale level but he has some positives that some probably can’t match. He’s P&G. He’s a player. He worked for Woodward. The combination of those 3 things for me, make him a solid consideration.

We’ll fall off in areas but possibly strengthen in others.

I would vote for Verge.

Verge loves LSU so much that he sent his son to Auburn.

Verge is under qualified. He’s not especially smart. And he’s done nothing if nite to make you think he’s capable of doing a good job as AD.

The job is waaaay over his head.

As if it wasn’t already solidified before, this thread proves you are a legitimately stupid person beyond any shadow of a doubt.

The only value verge brings that others cannot is being a connections guy. How did your extensive “background on him” not teach you this?

Looking at the current state of college athletics, I want a fundraiser that has a solid team of media and contract lawyers as his support staff to serve as AD

Literally none of the people that are seriously being considered for LSU’s AD position are qualified on paper. No idea why there isn’t more fan outrage about the fact that we are choosing between Verge, McNeese AD, or southeastern AD. shite is sad, we are fricked

Who said that’s who was being considered?

I bet you bitched about his schedules for opening games too. We need a real A.D. . Someone that can make great hires. I feel like Verge would be a yes man for the higher ups.

There's more to being an AD than hiring coaches. He also has to be a politician and fundraiser, a manager and CEO of facilities and budgets. For HC hire a football guy. For AD hire a business guy.

Do you have trouble with reading comprehension?

I’d support him if he was somehow the choice after a quality search.

I guess you are saying black folk are not smart but any white person could do the job? How in the hell does someone work in the AD office for 25yrs and can't do the job? Why wasn't he fired?

Isn’t Ausberry the one responsible for a lot of the scheduling we’ve been bitching about for years.

Particularly hard opening games without a warmup first? And not getting some of these teams to come play in TS?
