The government is still shut down??

I read this board a couple times a week and the only time I remember the gov is shut down is when I read something about it here.
I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or bad but man the government seems so pointless to every day average Americans.

The only way I thought this shutdown would affect me is that I couldn’t call the IRS for an issue.

The federal government is a monolith that has its tentacles in every aspect of your life. Trust me, if the checks stopped being printed, every person in this country would feel it overnight. We all depend on government spending, some more directly than others.

It has been interesting watching how fully the finger pointing has taken over. Each side blames the other and stirs up the gullible little foot soldiers.
Thirty fricking years! Three decades......that our useless fricking Congress hasn't passed an actual budget. Hell, in that time it has effectively abdicated its role and power to the fricking Executive which has essentially rendered pointless one third of our government and brought us to being governed via Executive Order.
Don't let them fool you. They all got us here, and they're all equally fricking useless.
