There are going to be some mighty disappointed fans at UF, LSU, Penn State.

3 big time openings, and zero big names.
Kiffin is the only thing close to being a big name.
Napier is the only one that definitely deserved to be canned.
LSU was justified to fire Kelly, but not sure who they will get that will make it worth paying him $50 Million to go away.
Penn State kind of over reacted firing Franklin.
Franklin has compiled a pretty solid record and 2 weeks before getting fired had his team in the Top 5.
HIs only real sin is losing to Ohio State every year, like 95% of the teams OSU played during Franklins time at PSU.

We get it you're retarded.

I dont think you watched Penn State football if you think it was over reacting. The dude showed what he was , a good coach that would never ever get over the hump and win it all. If you are ok with your team being good but not great and always being second or third fiddle, then James is your man,
Kelly was on the exact same trajectory, maybe worse, with the added problems of him being a fricking a-hole.

BK literally wouldn’t even recruit. We didn’t lose kid since he left.
Whoever is coaching LSU next will be lucky. This political charade is almost over

Dude, the season is FAR from over. You don’t think there will be more fired? This is just the beginning. At lest LSU, Florida and Penn State got a head start.

Ok thanks for your input. Don’t forget to put your toys away when you’re done.

The last coaches at each school. BK, O, Mullen, Napier, Franklin and some Bill whatever his name is. I think all three are used to shitty hires.

He was a horrible hire.
He deserved to be fired.
But who is LSU going to get that will make it worth paying him $50 Million to go away ?
If they get Kiffin then I guess it was worth it.
But it's not like they canned Kelly because they have Saban, Urban, or Ryan Day lined up

Think obviously most us want Kiffin but it will be ok if LSU ends up with one of the following Dillingham, Key, Brohm, or Golesh.

Does it matter that we don’t have Urban lined up??
Our team was heading to 6-6 next year and downward path.

Who cares?
Do you think a better idea would be to do nothing and keep Kelly just because it would cost 50 million to make him go away?
It’s Woodwards mistake that the grownups are having to clean up and that’s why fat Scott is no longer employed

LSU fired Ed O and paid him millions in buyouts so they could hire Kelly and pay him 10 Million a year.
How did that work out ?
And Coach O even won a Natty a few years earlier.
They would have been better off just keeping O.
Now they are paying Kelly 50 Million to go away so they can hire God knows who.
Nice to see they learned their lesson

Saban wasn't a big name when he was at MichSt., Miles wasn't a big name when he was at OkieSt. And Orgeron for sure wasn't a big name. To be honest Brian Kelly was probably the biggest name LSU has hired for HC and that dint work out too well.

Which is exactly why you cut ties with Kelly and move on

The problem is they're much more likely to hire a worse coach than a better coach. Franklin was a very, very good coach.

zero big names.
I'm so sick of the insecurity of some LSU fans. The whole "big name," whale-type hire has been horrible for LSU. The guys who have been good hires over the first quarter of the 21st century were not the "big name" guys.
People would argue that Saban was a big name, but he really had average results at Michigan State with some big wins each year. Obviously a solid coach, but not setting the world on fire at Michigan State.
Les Miles was not a big name, but a solid coach with a stubborn approach like BK but at least he was likable with amusing rants instead of constant temper tantrums and resting bitch face.
Ed Orgeron was laughed at until 2019 and then was laughed at after 2019.
BK was the big fish hire and may be the worst of all 4 coaches (Ed Orgeron would be a close second, but he had some better intangibles than BK).
LSU needs to just find the best coach available even if it's a coach from a G5 conference. LSU needs a hard working coach with a solid approach to running a program, tough and disciplined football team and a growth/learning mindset!

maybe, hiring a coach is a gamble. its all a gamble. I guess it just comes down to if you are ok with your team being very very good, but not the best. Or if you want championships. I feel like most people would pick championships, but with hindsight those 10-3 years look really good after a bad coaching hire

I like Brohm most on that list, but Drink would be the better hire.
