Why is this board so soft?

Y’all act like LSU just fell off the map. We have a board that will hire the next coach, we will have an AD and president within the next week or two, we still have great recruiting and a decent coach that actually cares will do great with that talent, we have the greatest baseball coach in the country.

As much as I love LSU; I love this shite show for the people of Louisiana. It's such a dysfunctional state and it deserves all of this.

It's not soft to point out that this entire process has been a shitshow and doesn't inspire confidence to anyone, including potential ADs and head coaches.
Noone in charge can answer a question with any specifics, and now we have incompetent Louisiana politics heavily involved in one of the only historically successful entities in the state in LSU athletics.
Soft would be choosing to be willfully ignorant about the incompetence on display this week.

Did you watch the press conference. It was strongly inferred that their wont be a new AD anytime soon and that our interim AD will run the search

We may well still end up with a good coach, but this is a shite show and an embarrassment. Whether you want to term pointing that out as soft or not, it's a fact.

New President will be in place but there is zero chance a new AD is brought in before the coach is hired. It’s going to be an issue whether you agree with it or not. AD’s like their “guy”.
I heard Rick Nuehiesel tell story about when he as at CO Washington wanted to interview him he went to his AD to ask permission. The(who hadn’t hired him) AD asked him how long did he have to find a new coach. Neuhesiel hadn’t even decided to interview but felt like he had to go now. Rick said he used that opportunity to get his guy Gary Barnett.

In the press conference this morning they said Verge will have full authority to lead the coaching search and hire the new head coach. They specifically said there is no timeline for hiring a new AD.

If accepting and covering for the brazen stupidity of their governor makes some feel "hard" or not "a pussy," that's up to them. "Tough guy."
But to head coaching candidates, the staff that they would bring with them and new player recruits--ie, people we need to attract to LSU--we look like a wildly dysfunctional place to be avoided. I'm sure that will work out great for the program.
I hope y'all enjoyed the Curly Hallman era, because we're about to have a repeat.
