re: Belichick is coaching at 73 for a team that needed a complete rebuild.

There's no evidence that Belichick is a capable coach without Tom Brady.
Without Tom Brady starting, Belichick has 82 wins and 101 losses, including one playoff win, across ten seasons as an NFL head coach.
In other words, he's a loser. And his record at UNC bears that out.
And he's terrible to his QB's, as he was to Brady, and he is being right now to Max Johnson.

Great, pussy doctor, what's your name? I'm sure your clients would like to know about your misogyny.
But who knows, maybe they'd appreciate your being receptive to trans patients.

Pussies don't suck air, you moron. And if you'd interacted with one in real life, you could know that.

That giant sucking sound at the end of the season will be our best players rushing into the transfer portal at the end of the season.
That and half our brainwashed fans, servicing our idiotic governor. The level of delusion on display here is STAGGERING. They even think our talking about Landry's mess is worse than Landry's mess.

Speaking of firings, what's the procedure for a recall election?

And what's the over/under on how long before that starts?
The nice thing about Landry's involvement in this is the fruition of his involvement will be completely apparent right around the time he would run for re-election. If he makes it that long.

When did the board get so dumb?
If accepting and covering for the brazen stupidity of their governor makes some feel "hard" or not "a pussy," that's up to them. "Tough guy."
But to head coaching candidates, the staff that they would bring with them and new player recruits--ie, people we need to attract to LSU--we look like a wildly dysfunctional place to be avoided. I'm sure that will work out great for the program.
I hope y'all enjoyed the Curly Hallman era, because we're about to have a repeat.

Football rules over all. Even over baseball. Everyone knows this. Losing football team? Fired
Kelly wasn't fired for having a losing team. He never had a losing season. He was fired for failing to mount a team that competed with the nation's very best.
I'm well aware that football is the most popular sport. However, the Athletic Director is responsible for ALL the sports, and there is no denying that Woodward was incredibly successful at developing an array of programs that were competitive with the nation's very best.

Maybe I can put this in terms the Landry fans can understand.
You don't see the governors of Pennsylvania or Florida, especially, weighing in--at all--on the hiring of their next football coach, do you? You don't see the those governors firing wildly successful athletic directors at Penn State or UF at the start of that coaching search, do you? You don't see those governors wearing out national media, exposing himself as meddling imbecile, do you?
Given that, who do you think a top candidate would pick, given a choice between Florida and LSU?
So now thanks to Landry (who is not an LSU alum), Florida especially has a significant hiring advantage over LSU.
In principle, I agree that coaches in general are entirely overpaid. But it's an unfortunate reality in our sports environment that fielding competitive SEC teams requires such coaching hires. I would not be opposed to LSU de-emphasizing sports, but I imagine most on the board would disagree.

Landry Just TORPEDOED LSU's Coaching Search
Now there's NO way a top tier candidate, like Kiffin, is going to come to LSU, only to have our imbecile governor looking over his shoulder.
While I didn't think Kelly was a great hire, under Woodward, LSU's athletic department was absolutely one of the most competitive in the nation, practically winning a national championship every year. That is an insane accomplishment. Most universities NEVER win one natty EVER in their history. For instance, when our rival Ole Miss recently won its baseball natty it was the first natty in school history.
LSU will NOT be able to find a comparable replacement for Woodward. We just won't. Such accomplishments do not simply grow on trees.
And now, the school has to replace, not one, but two of the biggest positions in the athletic department, with Gov. Kilroy micromananging the process.
Maybe he could drag his rent-a-tiger through Tiger Stadium again.
One can't help but wonder what other functions of the state Landry is f-ing up that we're not aware of, simply because a given function isn't as popular as LSU football.

Thanks for the find!
My interpretation of the 2B's comment about LSU not wanting to play them is it is projection. THEY were ultimately afraid of LSU which is why they fell apart.

We must get the Arky broadcast of the 9th!

Them hogs have got their broadcast on LOCKDOWN!
It is their Epstein List!
I just joined (and canceled) their Hogs+ free trial. It ain't there!
Arkansas' collapse was much more than one or two plays. After our pinch hinter struck out (& their W seemed inevitable), they messed up with each subsequent batter:
Their 1B misfielded Curiel's hit, turning an out into a double.
Then they walked Frey.
Then they failed to turn the double play.
Hernandez's missed fly.
They pitched to Jones in the first place.
And didn't snag his line drive.
That's five players and the coach, f-ing up.
It's an object lesson in stress leading to bad decisions. Before any of these errors, I could see them getting scared.
And, yes, as others have noticed, we are the power in college baseball that Alabama was in football under Saban.
Now let's get that broadcast. Wake your hillbilly cousins!
