I think that could be a good choice. He does check lots of boxes, SEC experience at UGA and he is a Louisiana native and LSU alum (Undergraduate) but being from Hammond, is not tied to the Baton Rouge good ole boy club from certain HS (Catholic, Baton Rouge High, U High and Episcopal) and thus could come in and bring an independent voice.

It seems like it would be very difficult to hire a sitting AD from another school in fricking OCTOBER. That is shite that usually happens in the summer.
