And getting rid of him was the correct thing to do. He took down the big time money makers (football and basketball) that keep programs running. You can't have two massive blemishes on your record like that. He will forever be known as the AD who stabbed his basketball coach in the back and being responsible for the two largest buyouts in college sports history.

It wasn’t his basketball coach. It was Alleva’s.

Ross Bjork extended Jimbo, not Scott.

Love how people just memory holed the $400 million dollar basketball arena that was a skim scam from the get go. Thats about 3 times what it should’ve cost and the company he was using’s CEO was indicted. Get him and his people out of here.

As great as that is...baseball and women's basketball don't pay the bills. He was a disaster with football and men's basketball, the two teams on campus that actually make money...

And, while Woodward probably needed to go at some point, the way Landry has handled this will almost assuredly give any well-respected coach/AD pause before coming to LSU.

Callimg the hiring of Kelly a disaster from an AD perspective is so ridiculous it doesn’t warrant even a conversation

He basically executed the basketball program and burned what was left.

He’s lazy.

He can’t evaluate talent so he relies on other schools to do so and hope to outspend them.

If the next AD managed to hire Kirby Smart, and then Kirby had the same record as Brian Kelly, would yall also call that a failure of a hire for an AD?

Are you listening to Kelly’s ex players right now? That hire was made to sell to fans, it had zero to do with football

Terrible and entitled take. We have a powerhouse in baseball again and will be a top 5 product in WBB with Mulkey. A bad hire with Kelly, sure. But the guy has delivered. Idiotic to let Landry influence this much of the athletic program.

Hiring a top five winningest active coach in college football who contended for national championships had zero to do with football?

Did Scott not give Jimbo a 10 year, $75 million contract fully guaranteed?

I had no idea this many Jeff Landry supporters cared about basketball prior to today
