Nationals make Blake Butera MLB's youngest manager

Washington announced the 33 year old Louisiana native as their manager today.

CBS Sports

ETA: Youngest manager since 1972. Butera played at Mandeville HS and Boston College.

That’s true, we rarely land recruits from LA though. I’d sure love to poach some football talent from the state

He was the Riverdogs manager in Charleston a few years ago. Became pretty close with him and he got me and a few guys tickets next to the dugout every home game, then we would take him golfing on Kiawah once or twice a month or take some of the players.

One of the coolest and most genuine dudes. Happy for him and I hope he kills it. Guy is a Hell of a coach

I struck him out senior year.
Was always a good guy in competition though. Crazy to see someone my age get such a prestigious gig. Congrats to him.

Jesus. I remember how depressed I was a few years ago when I realized I was older than every player on an MLB roster. Now I’m 15 years older than a manager. FML.
