Landry was always going to get involved

Based off reports of the firing, he was a factor in getting rid of BK, so at least he gave us that if that is in fact true. I think he was always going to stick his nose into the search at some point. His problem is that he can't keep his mouth shut because he wants all the credit and attention.
I think he also said what he said because he believes a vast majority of the fan base wants Woodward gone (and because of his own personal dislike for the man).
The only silver lining that comes of this is a combination of the fact that:
1. He at least said this early on in the search and it will be out of the news cycle sooner rather than later.
2. If his communications team is doing their job, they are telling him that he is getting roasted by the media and Republicans/Democrats alike, and that this isn't good press for him.
3. I think the "coaching search ship" took some damage last night, but she isn't sinking just yet. It's still very much salvageable and can still sail but this thing can't take on any more water.

Free advertisement. Why would he not get involved? Especially with his cheesy demeanor.

I least he made it happen, which is more than I can say for Scott or the BOS.
A $100 MILLION MISTAKE. Read this twice. That's not a small number.

Moscona said this morning that it all stems from the fact that a Landry donor was going to finance firing McMahon and bringing Wade back and Woodward vetoed that. Apparently that pissed Landry off and now he hates Woodward.

Landry hates Woodward. That much is clear

Good
If I were the gov of La I’d get involved too.

That press conference he had was the first time I heard Landry speak. Didn't realize he sounded like we rode in on an alligator. But he truly loves that he has access that he does now. Like he knows he can just go anywhere now. Probably a life ling LSU fan, and now he can just go hang and be around the football team whenever he wants. He's loving this. That's the vibe I get. So of course he's going to put his 2 cents in. FWIW I voted for him, its just wild to see how he conducts himself.

Yep.
I don’t know what the deal is but Landry could get headlines just riding along side this search. Something definitely happened between Landry & Woodward.

Well he made a terrible deal that cost state and taxpayers lot of money
He did same thing at AM
So he has a reason to dislike the guy
If that happened in the private sector his arse would have already been fired

That’s interesting.

Woodward is a part of the Baton Rouge elite and a huge Democrat James Carville disciple JBE guy etc. Landrys donors hate him and many of those donors are big LSU donors you add the Men’s Basketball debacle the BK debacle and that is why Woodward is in the position he is in

It's politics. Landry wants the stage and approval from daddy Trump. Also, Scott Woodward is a Democrat who has aspirations of being governor.
My issue is the way he commented on everything. Not only that, he either didn't have his facts straight or outright lied about everything. The fact he tried to pass it off as the state (taxpayers) is going to be on the hook for this was one of the most stupid statements he could have made.
Add on the comments about Trump which essentially translated to "hey look at me daddy, I'm your number 1 cuck" and it was an embarrassment.
