We are clearly planning to invade Venezuela, right?

Seems obvious - missile strikes on drug boats, moving aircraft carriers to the area, B1 bombers flying over, now military having to sign NDAs. Seems obvious prelude to war. Maduro is a scumbag, but not sure why we care so much. Probably a poli-board thing but I don't hang there and seems like this is not being talked about enough. Gonna have boots on the ground before you know it.

quote:

U.S. military officials involved with President Donald Trump's expanding operations in Latin America have been asked to sign non-disclosure agreements, three U.S. officials say, a development that raises new questions about a military buildup that Venezuela fears may lead to an invasion.

I wondered why the US hasn't declared war on the Mexican cartels.

Venezuela is in a humanitarian crisis. Some of it is due to our economic sanctions. Chicken and egg thing though. I’m guessing they won’t take a lot of their people back and they definitely aren’t holding fair elections. Pretty clear we don’t want a communist petro state in our hemisphere and we will do what it takes to prevent it.

Because the last time the US declared war was world war 2.

Declaring war is so old fashion, plus it binds the Presidents hands and forces almost every decision to run everything through Congress. Them clowns would be warning the enemy about every move the military was planning to make.

I misspoke. I should have used the word, "envade."

My old boss left in the 90s and he mentioned many of their more intelligent did also.

He added that most of the more recent migrants to the US were violent or more of the welfare state type.

Not sure how relevant to ongoing situation.

The only “non stupid” thing would be what they’re doing…blowing up known drug running boats. I’m not even going to say it’s a great idea because I honestly have no clue if it is. But it seems fairly low risk.

“I’ll allow it .gif” for maybe striking facilities where drug manufacturing is taking place….maybe. Again, no clue.

However, I’m certain that anything beyond that is stupid. There’s nothing there worth fighting about and there sure as hell isn’t anything worth an invasion/boots on the ground and dead Americans.

What the heck ever happened to “let’s just mind our own damn business and stop trying to fight stupid wars all over the place”??

I think the U.S. has only carried out official war declarations against countries themselves, right? Not against groups like Islamic pirates, Al-Qaeda, the cartel, etc.

One of my best friends escaped right as shite was hitting the fan with Maduro.

He said the corruption there is so bad that the police will take bribes for some of the most serious offenses. The cartels run everything and take all of the resources... normal citizens are left with the scraps. It is so bad that he refuses to ever go back even to see his extended family.

I'm wondering if there was a hit on Trump or his family or something that Trump deems unforgivable that we don't know about, and now Trump is in Trump vengeance mode. Seems way too personal. Doesn't add up.

There's class warfare going on right now between the old Venezuelans in America and the new ones. The old ones look down on the new ones and think that the new ones are Venezuela trailer trashy and it's embarrassing.

Plot twist: The REAL Epstein files are in a safe in Caracas, and Nicolas Maduro's name and picture is prominent throughout them.
