Hopefully most. Doesn't seem like many players liked Kelly.

Majority of defensive starters should be gone
Majority of offensive starters should be gone

No clue until 5 weeks from now. This wont be a big implosion like orgeron was, since nil has gms, etc in place. Its the 1 perk of nil is the gm and boosters can discuss with roster guys, hs commits. Ensure them of $, certain things. Kelly had like 28 roster kids + 12 hs fr. Id expect were around 35-40 roster guys ans 15+ hs commits. Much healthier transition.

I doubt we retain as much as atm and bama were able to during theres, but we'll see.

I would expect a pretty big load from the Portal next year with some young guys stepping up, Solomon who was hurt all year this year was 5 star from FSU.

You can always reload with talent in college football portal now especially at a top program like LSU. Get a coach the players want to come play for.

the lack of decommits on recruiting is great news.

I don’t know think we lose a lot.

Only 2 players on defense, regardless of Coaching since they are out of eligibility or will enter the draft.

As for Offense, we will lose a couple OL and WR's to the draft. Maybe 1 or 2 will hit the portal.

So, we will need a big transfer portal haul next year again. That is why we need to save as much as possible from the buyout of Kelly.

Even if we hire Jesus as the HC, next year will be a rebuilding year. The portal can help but we will really have have returners step up.

The health of the program? Since we don’t have a head coach and no one, and I mean no one knows what the hell is going on, we’re in intensive care.

Who stays will be a subset of the question who is coming in. We will likely have half the team coming from the portal. That’s not scientific but logically, I think we should expect that. And we might be a little short on cash as well.

I think Cooley is a RS sophomore.
Also are we just assuming weeks is a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick? He may return I would think

Offensive players that should/could come back

Adams
Echols
Davis
Curne

Green

Nick Anderson
Aaron Anderson
Kyle Parker
Destyn Hill

Durham
Berry
Johnson

Would be surprised if all of those WR were on the roster next year. Probably also lose one OL.

Defensive starters that could/should come back

Reliford
Breaux
Mathis
McKinley
Carpenter

Keys
Weeks
Weeks
Perkins

Pickett
Woodland
Cooley

Would be surprised if Weeks/Perkins/Cooley returned, but you never know. Weeks and Cooley could want to improve their stock. Perkins could just want to finish out his college career - I don't think his stock will rise or fall with any additional tape out there. A team will either love his versatility and take him early, or he'll be a 3/4 round pick.

I die this last week for the defense

DBs
Pickett and Woodland will be back, along with Cooley and Spears

LB
Technically, everybody except for West Weeks could be back, but i think we coule possibly get Whit back for another year, maybe? Also Dahvon Keys will be back.

DL
Reliford wasn't a starter, but he'll be back. McKinley will be back along with Mathis, Breaux, and Carpenter. All rotationally experienced at the very least.

As for offense

WR/TE
Aaron Anderson could come back for a final year technically. Nic Anderson will be back if he doesn't transfer. Kyle Parker, Trey Dez Green, and Donavon Green will be back.

QB/RB
MVB is back. If Frank is still here, i expect Durham, Berry, and Johnson to be back. Kaleb Jackson? IDK

OL
Crapshoot if they fire Davis. I'm still of the belief that it's not his fault. Super young group that should still be backups. Guys are being played out of place all over, and IDGAF what anybody says, Kelly had his hands all over this. Do we really believe Brad wants to keep running the other Davis out there at RT? They actually started opening up some holes when they cut out all the excessive RPOs. Pass blocking needs some help, but you can't have elite freshman like we did in 2022 every time.
