I wonder if records are kept for such things.

if my math is right...isn't that like 1/4000?

Clearly shows your luck has run out.

It is a hell of a contradiction to the Martingale theory

It’s just a quirky stat. We only won 2 in 2019 and had lost 8 straight before winning one.

That is a curse from the higher powers that be.

Was often wondering why we were almost always receiving the kick off

Yep.. 0.02% probability of losing 12 coin tosses in a row. Pretty incredible.

Pretty close. 1 in 4,096 or so.

Les Miles has lost control of the laws of probability.

Yeah, but probability is weird. It’s almost like Schrödinger’s Cat. If you’re talking about the math and looking ahead, saying “ok. There’s no way we lose 12 coin flips in a row because the total odds of that grouping of events is 1:4096,” that makes sense

But the reality of the situation is the events also exist in their own space each instance, and carry roughly a 1:2 odd. It’s just our human minds grouping the events together, but that’s not how reality works.

Past events do not dictate present probabilities.

I guess it didn't matter because Kelly is the only idiot who takes the ball first every game instead of deferring.

Yeah I’m aware. Technically the odds of losing 12 times in a row are the same as the odds of any other exact series of outcomes.

It’s still remarkably bad luck, though.

Did we actually lose the toss 12 in a row; if so than yes about 1 in 4000.

Or were some of those won, but we elected to receive?

It's 50-50 each coin flip. It doesn't accumulate

Even if CBK would have won a coin toss, he would have screwed that up too.

He won the OT coin toss against Bama in 2022 and played that one to perfection.
