Don't Care Who We Get... He Ain't Going 10-2 Every Year In The New SEC

The conference is going to a 9 game schedule next year. Going 9-3 from this point forward will be a helluva year. You will not see SEC teams consistently going 10-2/11-1 every year. Ain't gonna happen. The conference is too damn good. Teams are gonna beat each other up in conference play. The college game has changed. It's pro football. You're gonna see teams like an Alabama and/or UGA miss the playoffs at some point. If Kirby and Kalen miss the playoffs two years in a row, administration and fans will be on their asses, too. It's all what have you done for me lately. In today's game, coaches have two years. That's it. It's boom or bust. If I'm a coach at a big time school, I'm gonna get all the money I can before they let me go. Damn right my buyout is gonna be 50m. These expectations are unrealistic. There are plenty of pro football teams that are in the playoffs one year and then don't sniff them the next. This is what is going to happen in the SEC with the 9 game conference schedule. Whoever we get has 2-3 conference losses before November, you all will want him gone, too.

He's not going 8-4 or 7-5 like where we were headed.

How you get to 9-3 is sometimes every bit as important as getting to 9-3

You can't go "all in" on a roster/season and then completely embarrassed at home by a good but not all time great team.

You can't have a losing record against top 25 teams

Nuance matters

I think there is a very good chance the top two or three teams only have 2 losses.

If your not winning at a top 3 clip in the SEC at LSU you better be super likeable. If your doing neither ur not going to last long

also LSU was a top spender on this years roster and are out of playoff contention before November.

Kelly’s firing wasn’t black and white just failing to meet expectations

He wasn’t putting the work in and LSU was quickly falling behind its rivals. He was given everything he needed roster and staffing wise, failed to keep playoff hopes alive through October

Being an unlikeable prick wasn’t helping either.

Yeah, I don't get going to a 9 game SEC schedule. At least one deserving SEC team will not make the playoffs because of it. I hope the extra money is worth it.

Good thing for our new coach is most of our tough games are at home next year & should be night games too.

Clemson
Bama
Texas
A&M

@ Auburn
@ Ole Miss (without Kiffin)
@ Tennessee
@ Arkansas
@ Kentucky

Easy home schedule in 2027, go 2-2 or better on the road - they both look like 10-2 seasons with the right hire

Dont care about record other than getting to the playoffs on a regular basis at minimum.

The first expectation is just to please for the love of God make the playoffs once.

I think even in the best of times, the most reasonable expectation is to make the playoffs 2/3 years.

Nobody is going to be mad if if Jay Johnson doesn't win the CWS this year. Some might be mad if he doesn't make it to Omaha. I would say the expectation should be Omaha, it should be every year, but reasonably, if you're winning titles like he is, it's hard because of recruiting and the portal to do everything you need to do to make it back. Same in football.

Cheese fry Woody had to know about Kelly’s work ethic before the A&M debacle and did nothing. Woody has to go.

Buddy, he could easily go 8-4 or 7-5 next year.

We haven’t even won 10 games in the regular season since 2019.

The expectation for the highly compensated LSU football coach is to be better than

9-4 average season
5-11 against top 25 teams
1-5 against teams ranked 11-25
3-6 in last 9 SEC road games (after having almost 3 years to build your program before playing those 9 games)

It just wasn’t good enough.
