*Saban playfully denies wanting to coach, and says if Mrs Terry hears the money amounts offered, she'll make him
*He regretted leaving here and has spoken about that bothering him in the past
*He has several successful business ventures here that make him tons

Every single personal, alumni, etc would absolutely throw their checkbook at him
Every single 5 * would schedule a visit, and every stud player in the portal would call him 1st

You will call, he will politely decline.. I just don't see him walking away from a machine that he built at Bama to restart here under the same circumstances on why he stepped away.

I honestly don’t think he wants to coach. The NIL era is a nightmare to deal with especially older coaches who are set in their ways. This is a young man’s game now. Not that I wouldn’t take him

I don't think he planned to, but he knows he could pocket 100M in just a few years, and the buyer, LSU, is desperate.

You never know. Guys like him have mentality we dont understand.

Start the plane trackers!!!

I just don't see the fit for either side at this point. Obviously you'd take him if he wanted in, but he's built a nice life in Alabama with houses, businesses, fan support, a part time role with the university. He's got a cushy gig with ESPN and doing commercials.

Why would he want to come to a total rebuild at LSU except for a cash grab?

He regretted it while he was at Miami. It was the college game he missed more than LSU.

I hear ya....but, of all coaches, Saban has the most clout to convince players to stay in place...or convince a replacement to come in.
Looking at it now, its easier for guys like him to recruit out of portal, then to run around chase 3 * kids in rural America.

Why would he choose to ruin his legacy at this point in his life?

Would he come? None of us know one way or the other .
I do know he will be asked informally if there is any possibility...this may have occurred already.

I personally think he's not interested but it's only my opinion

So let people have their opinions and stop being so critical of other people.

Nothing I’ve seen indicates this.

He is my first call, but not for head coach.

Saban would be a slam dunk hire as AD. I just don't think he would want to do it.

The man has made a career of making careers for his assistants. Could you imagine the leadership he would bring to LSU athletics?

But how would it benefit LSU to bring him in for 2-3 years max? If we were talking 2021 to clean up O's mess, sure. Now we need a long term coach.

He wants to coach? If that were the case, he'd still be at Alabama.

Of course Saban has an unbeatable resume but personally I would like to hire a young, energetic Coach that’s full of fire and passion. Football is a sport that to be played well must be played with emotion. I don’t want a Coach that’s even close to Brian Kelly’s age, much less someone who’s older…

If the itch to go back to coaching becomes too strong he knows that LSU is the best place for him to win championships #8, 9, and 10.

I think this is why Kelly was fired so quickly! They would only do this so quickly if Ms. Terry said yes!
