Supposedly, Woody wanted him to fire Sloan. Kelly wanted to fire Brad Davis, but Woody didn't want him to do that.

To have been a fly on the wall...

Makes no sense if Sloan Davis and Hankton were just let go.

Sloan, Davis, and Woody should all be fired.

What does Brad Davis have on SW?

Brian Kelly wanted to be fired. Its the only logical explanation why Kelly would be unwilling to fire Sloan.

Woodward should be fired too for wanting Brad Davis to still be on staff

I don't care about Davis - Sloan had to go

Not to say Davis didn't deserve it but he rolls up to Sloan

He might have caught a few pics of him in Coates Hall.

Whoever Woody had named to fire BK would have said someone else.

As bad as all of them have been, Davis’ product on the field has been the most egregious.

Pretty out of touch on woody’s part to want to keep Brad around

I don't think he believed that Woodward would fire him with what's owed. Maybe Kelly was surprised. Any reasonable person with pride doesn't want to be fired. Money is secondary to the ones who already have enough.

Or Woody wanted a sticking point so the meeting could devolve into firing Kelly.

You mean to tell me that Woodward wanted to keep Davis?
I find that hard to believe.

I wanted B Davis and Sloan fired after LAST season. Davis doesn't improve OL at all and Sloan has no idea how to call plays to counter blitzes.

Exactly my thoughts after I read that article. He needs to go too!

Let’s be real BK didn’t get fired because he disagreed to fire a certain individual. It was much deeper between the two than that.

Nothing.

Brad Davis recruits black football players well and maintains a close relationship with them at LSU. But, he is a terrible teacher of good techniques and skills. This is why the LSU linemen performed so poorly!!

Kelly knows this and that’s why he wanted to fire him. Kelly finally realized that he needed a good line coach over a good recruiter.
