That’s absolutely disgusting to me that he gets that money, and also that’s where we are as a societywith money. Good people are the only ones losing here.
If Kelly had any goodness in him, he’d donate some of that to local business or charities in the surrounding area. But he won’t.

I can’t imagine getting shite canned with a smile on my face. There’s nothing that should warrant getting fired for doing a terrible job and then rewarded with insane financial security. I would hope riding other people’s coattails like that wouldn’t sit well with me.

If Kelly got canned, what possible reason would he have to work with LSU further on anything? I mean I hope they can buy him out for less but if I'm Kelly the only correspondence Woodward is getting from me is an updated change of address to forward the check to.

I’m glad he’s gone too, but in no way do I think he should forfeit what he’s due. He knows good and well that his name will get dragged through the mud at any school he goes to and doesn’t succeed. That’s why coaches strategically sign these types of contracts, to protect themselves. He sucked as a coach, but he deserves what he’s getting because LSU agreed to it. To refuse it would set some precedent that would give Universites too much power.
Things get nasty at the end of bad coaching/university relationships. It is what it is.

LSU could tie this up in the courts for a long time. His little mistress, while not likely a big deal, could be enough cause for LSU to simply drag it out for a decade or two.

Anyone in that situation would do the same. LSU signed the contract - they are on the hook for that money and Kelly and his representation do have the ultimate power in deciding if that money gets reduced.
