The Dan Lanning possibility

I understand the obvious reasons he would not leave Oregon.
Besides endless NIL, what keeps him there?
He’s from the Midwest, so Baton Rouge is more like home than Eugene.
I know Oregon is the easier path but maybe he wants to coach in the best conference.
He’s a Kirby protege and he knows where the best football is played.
And while Oregon does fine in recruiting, southern kids tend to prefer to stay in the south. It’s still going to be easier to get elite talent here.
Tell me why I’m crazy to think he’s on the table.

Because he turned down Alabama.

That dude ain't leaving beautiful Oregon with top 5 Nike money resources to come to the swamp of Baton Rouge. Yes we have lot's of in state talent but NIL is changing all that.

I'd love to have Dan Lanning but I don't see him leaving Oregon.

It’s not 2010, the SEC isn’t head and shoulders above everyone else.
Him being from the mid west does not matter.

It’s impossible. He has the single best NIL game at a place where he will retire a god.

This entire post is dumb, Lanning has it made in Oregon

1. Because he has endless NIL
2. Baton Rouge is nothing like the midwest
3. He does have an easier path.
4. Big 10 has won the last two nattys and is poised to have at least a 50/50 shot this year.
You already listed the reasons.
Yes you are crazy.
Geaux Tigahs, frick Kelly

Saban casts a larger shadow than anyone else, That could have something to do with him turning them down.

Where do you guys get this shite from? Kelly most recently coached in the Midwest and we hammer him because he isn’t a cultural fit

Choosing not to be “the guy after the guy” vs the savior after a program has crashed and burned are 2 different variables.
That said he’d be dumb to even consider leaving oregon.

Forget it.
The Rant is setting itself up for disappointment. The Rant thinks LSU can afford to buy out Kelly and his staff and pay another monstrous salary to lure another big time HC while also paying top dollar for players.
When BK is fired and the replacement is not a splash hire, the Rant will be sad.

Maybe he turned down Alabama because he didn’t want to be the guy who followed the goat Saban.
I think he would be stupid to leave Oregon but if he were to leave I could see LSU being one of the schools he would leave for.
