The United States and China have reached a trade deal in principle

More details to come but negotiations covered export controls, tariff suspensions, shipping fees, fentanyl-related measures, anti-drug cooperation and trade expansion.
BTW, the first heavy rare earth separation facility in the USA was announced last week and is being built in Vinton, LA

I think China held out as long as they could, and the upcoming 100% tariffs set to start on November 1st pushed them to the negotiating table

As someone who has negotiated with Chinese businesses, which all have some degree of state ownership, for 24 years, rule number one is never trust anything they say. Lying is in their DNA and they do it very politely and act confused and bewildered when called on their lying.
