Based on the arguement this guy lays out, then the open assasiantion of Maduro, who he described as the leader of a criminal enterprise, would be justified and legal. Do you agree?

You guys are being sucked in by slick regime change propaganda. How many times do we have to do this?

It is an interesting read and the author makes a compelling argument.
Another recommended reading: War Is Racket, by Major General Smedley D. Butler, a two time Medal of Honor recipient and one of the most highly decorated Marines of all times.
“I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.
I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914.
I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in.
I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street.
The record of racketeering is long.
I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909–1912.
I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916.
In China I helped see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.
Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints.
The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts.
We Marines operated on three continents.” Smedley D. Butler: Common Sense.

Finally and my biggest concern always has been the CIA component associated with cartel direction.

Exactly; targeting narcos on the high seas is another thing altogether different than targeting Venezuela for a regime change operation.
And anyone who argues CIA Headquarters Langley gives one rat’s arse about narco-terrorists flooding this nation with illicit drugs are themselves smoking fentanyl-laced meth.

I think this has more to do with finally paying attention to China's influence in our own hemisphere, especially when it comes to resources such as oil.

It wouldnt be justified if he were a resident of the USA, much less a foreign nation.
This is regime change for other reasons, and we all know what they are, under the guise of a drug war.
Anyone buying that its simply a drug war is an idiot.

This, of course, does not include the deaths caused in the drug trade, the murder, torture, kidnapping, random violence and associated companion criminal enterprises both inside and outside the USA by those who feed the demand for drugs.
Don’t tell Bunk

No kidding. And if foreign entities poisoning our youth for profit is suddenly a concern, when do we start a bombing campaign on Beijing and the NIH?

And here we have it.
Isn’t it funny how all the pariah nations targeted for regime change operations by our nation’s wholly corrupted national security apparatus in recent history have dared challenge the USD as the world’s reserve currency?
Was this the real reason Saddam was targeted for elimination?
