Just pulled up to field, opening day for cranes. Light rain and mid 50s, hope they fly, field was loaded yesterday. Had a few ducks out here as well.

Opening of rifle season in area 2. Got into box stand between hardwood bottom and mature pine stand. Rain coming around daylight for about 2 hours.

Yeah radar looks terrible, I ain’t that mad at them, killed 2 with bow already, drinking coffee and making breakfast. GL, be safe, tornado warnings in effect.

Light rain starting to come down in Lincoln Parish. It’’s supposed end around 10 so I’m gonna wait it out.

Had a buck step out a little after legal shooting time. He had a big body but I couldn’t get a good look at his head gear before he walked off.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who reads these posts with envy. Been 40 years since I hunted regularly. I lived in the woods off Choctaw as a poor kid with a crack barrel 20 gauge.

Area 9. Overcast and humid. Calm winds for the most part. Been able to pull the bow back twice this season but haven’t been able to hit the release. Really thought this was going to be the morning.
