What's Bernie Sanders up to??? Sanders praises Trump, slams Biden on border

Except people like Bernie Sanders told us over and over again that their hands were tied without a mega-spending bill on immigration. Was he lying then or is he lying now?

This is why ICE rounding up the criminal illegals (every single illegal is a criminal, otherwise they wouldn’t be here illegally) is so key. They need to go back to the shitholes they came from instead of invading our nation
The people interfering with ICE need to be arrested as well. It’s too much to ask of congress, but we need strict laws on aiding and abetting foreign nationals who are not here legally

Bernie's position on the border was pretty good until he started rising up the ranks in the Democrat party. 10 years ago he claimed that open borders was a Koch brothers proposal. (Something he wasn't totally wrong about, although he pretended like his own party wasn't embracing open borders during that time as well)

But as recently as his last campaign he was proposing open borders, free everything for illegals etc...
I think he's just saying this now because he realizes how unpopular open borders are and wants to appear like a moderate on the issue. At this point getting a Democrat to pretend to care about things like the border and crime is a step in the right direction. But there's no way that party will ever embrace securing the border again.

Bernie is a lazy-arse, good for nothing bastard who is all talk and no action.
he has spent his career lying that he "hates the system" and "power to the people" all the while enriching himself personally just like the rest of them. he's a fraud and nothing that comes out of his mouth should ever be taken seriously.

The Left and Democrats used to want tougher immigration because that was what the labor Unions wanted... it protected Labor, while Republicans used to want wide-open borders because it gave them a big tool to take power away from labor Unions.
A few things have changed in the past 20 years, though...
The (white) working class has shifted to the Republican party, and while it seems to have left labor Unions behind, it took the preference for Protectionist immigration policies with it.
Labor Unions have now become very Latino. Not that they still would not prefer strict controls on the border because it's good for Unions, they oppose the way it's being done at the moment.
Sanders is pretty consistent... he's been basically saying the same things for 40 years. He might get some turbulence for this one from the Left, though.
