Yes.. they bussed in a lot of illegals. I just find it hard to believe that there are a lot more left wing radicals living in NYC than normal American people.

If they can actually get out the vote with norms.. it will be a landslide

I’m rooting for him to win and win big. NYC with their Dem leadership deserves what will happen as a result.

If the good people of NYC don’t want to stand up, then it serves them right.

Anyone wanting NYC to fall into the hands of a radical Islamic POS is Un-American and a dipshit!

Yeah, let me openly wish to have neighboring states to be dismantled into a 3rd world, I’m sure that will be a great long term economic solution for our country.

What an idiotic wish!

Pure ignorance and stupidity for anyone to wish that happens to the most well known and largest city in our Republic!

You obviously don’t understand economics and don’t

They aren't but the radicals have a plurality in a race that people there are pretty apathetic about generally.

I will give Mamdani credit for at least talking about the issues that are affecting people like the cost of living, rent control, transportation, etc. which is more than I have heard any of the others do. Cuomo is a disgraced establishment hack who bungled COVID, Eric Adams is despised already, and Sliwa is a clown. That leaves Mamdani as the last man standing.

I hope he wins. I think NYC needs to take a sharp step backwards before they can break free and move forward again.

Lack of consequences for making crappy choices is the #1 reason why this country has a lot of problems.

But you aren't wrong, what will happen is that everyone else will pay to "save" New York, whatever that means. And that will suck.

Because of this spiral of lack of consequences.

But if NYC does elect him, the correct thing to do is watch NYC destroy itself.

It's mainly "foreign born New Yorkers" who are voting for him. This is strictly the result of suicidal immigration policy.

NYC is loaded with young hipster professionals. They all have been indoctrinated well. Then they form groups and nobody wants to question if full blown communism is a bad idea.

Combine them with all the people with their hand out and you have a majority.

And NYC is an expensive place to live. A fricken monthly train ticket will cost you $132. That’s almost 1,600 a year right there. Car insurance is insane. Parking astronomical. My point is everything adds up and you get caught in a rat race. You get pummeled every time you turn around. You think you can’t take a pay cut by moving the frick out of there but it would easily be the best thing you could ever do. Just leave the idiotic liberal politics behind and get the frick out of there.

Whenever I visit anyone there I always think, “damn, they just look beat up” but they also take some weird pride in being pummeled so whatever.

It’s not Manhattan. It’s the other 4 boroughs demographics that are the issue.

Just from my observation it usually does not work out that way. Look at New Orleans. How far are they near a turn around? St Louis? Jackson, MS? Newark?Baltimore?

Once the death spiral starts it is hard to pull out of the vortex.

Detroit has made some turn around but it is no where near what it once was.

The last time the City did that kind of rent control, a lot of low rent buildings burned down. That hurt the low rent dwellers most of all when the buildings become economically untenable to the owners. I'm sure they were out of town when organized crime torched the places.
