SONS

IN WHAT STARTED IN PROMISING FASHION, THE PELS CAME OUT RED HOT AGAINST THE GRIZZ BUT ADJUSTED TOO LITTLE TOO LATE AND LOST A CLOSE GAME WHERE ZION AND TREY DIDNT HAVE THEIR BEST NIGHTS.

THERE ARE NO MORAL frickING VICTORIES. NO FORGIVENESS ALLOWED, NO DAYS OFF, BECAUSE WE NOW WE GOTTA PLAY SOME DUDE I WISH ICE WOULD PICK UP AND SHIP THE frick OUT OF HERE.

WEMBY IS A WHOLE arse PROBLEM. HES GOT 2K BADGES HE HAS NO BUSINESS HAVING ACCESS TO, AND WENT OFF GAME ONE.

YOU HAVE TO MAKE HIM LIVE OUTSIDE THE PAINT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. THAT CROSSOVER STEPBACK 3 IS THE SHOT I PRAY HE TAKES OVER AND OVER AND OVER INSTEAD OF HIM TAKING ONE frickING STEP IN TO DUNK.

DOUBLE HIM EARLY AND OFTEN. WE MAY NOT BE DISCIPLINED ENOUGH TO ROTATE BACK BUT WE ARE FAST ENOUGH TO MAKE UP FOR IT.

ZION, STEP THE frick UP. YOU CAME UP SHORT LAST GAME AND YOU KNOW IT. SAME WITH TREY. THERE ARE STANDARDS FOR STARTERS, AND THERE ARE STANDARDS FOR STARS. WHICH frickING STANDARD DO YOU WANT TO HOLD YOURSELF TO?

LETS BE REAL, I'M JUST HERE FOR FEARS. IF HE GETS TO THE RIM ON WEMBY I MAY TRY TO GET MY WIFE TO INVITE HER HOT FRIEND OVER AND ATTEMPT A 3WAY WHERE I WILL DEFINITELY NOT SATISFY THEM BOTH.

Wemby is NO problem...we simply use Dickinson under the basket...then let Herb climb on Dickinson's shoulders...and BINGO, we've got a 9' tall Herb Jones protecting the rim vs a mere 7'6" Wemby !!!

Then we go with a variation of the old... "triangle and two" defense...with our "two" being our HD/Herb combo...which should result in Herb getting maybe 20 blocked shots under the basket during the game.

Dickinson MIGHT "lose a step" totin' Herb around all night...but since he really doesn't even have a step to "lose"...that shouldn't be a problem.

We're worried about guarding Wemby (and rightfully so) but with how weak our guys attack the rim, how many blocks will Wemby have tonight? I'll set the over/under at 4.

Said it in the Poole thread, but yall got a gem with Fears. And holy shite if yall can get queen the best personal trainer money can buy, he’s going to be an absolute freak. That end to end play he had the other night was insane for a big man his size. He has legit skills.

Future is bright for the Pels and Wiz

Wasn’t sure if I missed it, but is there a reason why Jose didn’t play opening night?

Fears took his minutes. I wish Jose would get Hawks minutes.

Fears and Jose doesn't fit together. They tried it all preseason and the lineup looks really bad. They have to get creative of they want to fit Jose in. But if Fears keep playing well, they're going to want to give him as much minutes as he can handle.

This is what I was afraid of. Obviously Fears played very well especially when you consider his age and this being his first game, but I cannot imagine we are a not a better team with Jose on the floor.

Zion plays his best with Jose. Each of the last 3 years, Zion’s +/- was highest when playing with Jose. We are in a weird catch 22, where we need Zion to play well, but want to give Fears minutes, but want to win, but we don’t play Jose.

I’m not looking to start this argument again on here, but we are seeing in game one the effects of the unclear vision for the future. We either want to win or want to develop the young players, this team is not in the position or have the foundation in place to do both. If we want to win this year, we have to find 15-18 minutes for Jose

Should have traded Jose honestly for a big man or a defender type

Sorry... Jose is not part of the future. The vision is clear. Fears is the future.

I understand that, and again I’m not trying to start the same argument that’s been going on all summer, but this is what is so incredibly frustrating about not having our pick this year.

Is our number 1 goal this year to win or is it to develop for the future?

I mean, I don’t think it has to be one or the other. I think obviously you go for wins while giving Fears and Queen as many opportunities as possible to develop like Trey and Herb did.

No. Gulf Coast Sports and Entertainment Network doesn't have a broadcast deal with YouTube TV. If you live in areas where the channel is broadcast over the air, you can buy an antenna for your TV and watch it that way, although I'm not sure what the channel number is. You can check that map here. GCSEN Broadcast Map This channel is also available on DirectTV I believe.

If you don't live in what the NBA considers the Pelicans Media Market, you can subscribe to NBA League Pass and stream the game that way using the NBA app on your phone, computer, or smart TV. If you don't want to pay for anything, you can use one of the many streaming sites on the internet.

Wemby looks even better this yr. The way he is handling the ball is crazy for someone his size.
