SIAP, but I found this film breakdown interesting from two former tigers that both played in the NFL. Apparently, our entire offensive system is flawed and being taught incorrectly. If this isn't a major indictment on this coaching staff, I'm not sure what is.

It really does seem like each room just does their own thing. No one is on the same page.

Promoting Sloan to OC was BK’s dumbest coaching move he’s ever had. Completely unqualified from day 1 and it obviously shows. Sloan is a bum.

Anyone with an ounce of football IQ knew it was a stupid move but was offset by BK’s pedigree.

Had it been someone like EDO I think much more outcry would have been had.

If BK is back next year, Sloan will be the sacrificial lamb.

I'm not a Sloan defender at all but I can't help but wonder what Brad Davis is actually teaching in practice. All of the offensive problems can be traced back to the offensive line and I see one fundamental breakdown after another. I like the way Richard Dickson puts it on the Hannycast. "It's not like I love every play call LSU makes but most of the time, they're calling stuff that should work and fundamentals kill them."

When I watch this offensive line I see...
-Wide hands and loose elbows
-Not finishing their blocks
-Engaging the defender and then letting their feet die
-Bad angles relative to leverage on a given play (taking the outside shoulder on inside zone and taking the inside shoulder on outside zone for example.
-Poor pad level.

We're not not moving people because the plays aren't there to be made. We're not moving people because we play with high pad level, let our feet die and the defender consistently has inside hand placement. That's high school stuff we're doing poorly. Not shockingly, when we do it right, we get movement and move people! Just don't do it consistently.

Embed to show subtitle. The offense is much worse than imagined upon closer inspection.
That was my reaction when watching Carter's Power Hour breakdown.

You're 100% correct but lets not fool ourselves and act like a good chunk of this board wasn't convinced Sloan was the reason for JD5's meteoric rise and were somewhat sold on him being the OC, thinking Denbrock was not the magic sauce the season before.

I’ve been convinced all season that Nuss has no idea what he’s seeing at the line. That breakdown by Flynn is prime example. There’s no way you don’t hand that ball off.

Playing QB is a difficult job but you have to be able to see numbers in the box.

From a recruiting ranking perspective, LSUs oline room is one of the highest rated in the country. 5 stars and high 4 stars at every position. It shouldn't be this bad. Either every single player is a bust, or our offenseive line coach is sabotaging this team...

I agree. And what do you put the odds at that every one of those guys were mis evaluated? All of them were highly recruited by SEC teams. It's pretty clear they just aren't being developed.

I remember alot of folks wanting Denbrock run off and wanting Jayden benched because "Nuss is clearly better."

It is mindboggling. Vandy wasn't in some exotic look trying to confuse us. They were very basic and Nuss consistently made the incorrect decision. As Flynn pointed out, you hand that ball off against that look every single time. Worst case scenario is Durham is 1 on 1 against a linebacker in the hole. The fact that Nuss is a 5th year senior and the son of an NFL OC makes this even more mindboggling. There are high school QBs that have a better understanding of pre-snap reads than Nuss.

It's time to move on from him. Put in Van Buren so you at least can figure out if he's capable of running your offense next year or if you need to go all in on a portal QB.

It's like Flynn said, we run too many RPO's. Every coach tries to instill and offensive identity. You need some bread & butter for your offense. Something you can practice for years and teach to be excellent at. In return, during a game, if things aren't working well, you can lean on this identity.

RPO is not an identity because by it's very nature, nobody on your team knows what's coming pre-snap. The lineman have to pass protect every time. The RB has to delay his momentum, and the receivers can't block down a safety or corner. It's just snap the ball and let QB figure it out. It's madness.

Now THIS would be a useful question to BK. Doubt we would get a useful response, but I would be interested.

What is wild to me is that Flynn makes note of what is very clear. He does say "I don't know what 18 is taught and he may be doing what he's told. I dont know this offenses rules"

We all know 18 can count. That was not a difficult pre snap read. Vandy was not deceptive pre-snap. I truly believe he is doing what he is taught to do in practice. It all goes back to the coaching.
