Every president since and including Kennedy has wanted a ballroom instead of the ridiculous circus tent currently in use. It took President Trump to make it happen at no cost to the taxpayers. The White House has been expanded and renovated numerous times over the years.

Truman was the last to seriously renovate the entire White House. That was in rhe 1950s. 70 years ago.
